It looks like no wedding bells will be ringing for Rupert Murdoch and his fiancée Ann Lesley Smith. According to various reports, the media mogul and his ladylove Ann Lesley Smith have called off their engagement.

It seems like Rupert Murdoch is unlucky in love! Many media outlets such as Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post, recently reported that the billionaire and his fiancée Ann Lesley Smith have ended their engagement.
Rupert and Smith were all set to walk down the aisle this summer. The news comes just 2 weeks after the Fox Corporation Chairman announced his engagement to Ann Lesley Smith.
Then, Murdoch told one of his newspapers, the New York Post, that he and Smith planned to have a ceremony in late summer. Up until now, neither Rupert nor Ann Lesley has made an official comment on their relationship status.
When did Rupert Murdoch and Ann Lesley Smith get engaged?
Rupert Murdoch revealed the news of his engagement to Ann Lesley Smith nearly 2 weeks ago. He proposed to Smith with an Asscher-cut diamond solitaire on St. Patrick’s Day in New York City.
While having a chat with the New York Post, the business magnate spilled the beans on the proposal and said, “I was very nervous. I dreaded falling in love — but I knew this would be my last. It better be. I’m happy.” He further added, “We’re both looking forward to spending the second half of our lives together.”
On the other hand, Ann Lesley Smith who was previously married to late country singer and TV executive Chester Smith chimed in, “For us both it’s a gift from God. We met last September.”
The former police chaplain went on to say, “I’m a widow 14 years. Like Rupert, my husband was a businessman. Worked for local papers, developed radio and TV stations and helped promote Univision. So I speak Rupert’s language. We share the same beliefs. In perspective, it’s not my first rodeo. Getting near 70 means being in the last half. I waited for the right time. Friends are happy for me.”

At first, the Australian-born billionaire walked down the aisle with Patricia Booker in 1956. The pair got divorced in 1967. Then, he said, ‘I Do’ to his second wife Anna Maria Torv during the same year.
Rupert and Anna Maria divorced in 1999. He tied the knot with his third wife, Wendi Deng, that same year. The pair called it quits in 2013. He has 6 kids from his three marriages. In 2016, he married Jerry Hall from whom he split last year.
