Following his release, Harris started to maintain a low profile and spent his last days battling neck cancer at his home in Bray. However, he never apologized to his victims and claimed that he was innocent.
“I was convicted of offenses I did not commit in my first trial. That is not just my view but the view of the Court of Appeal who overturned one of my convictions. I had already served the prison sentence by the time of the appeal,” he claimed after his trial. The UK media announced Harris’ death on May 23rd, 2023.
