Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Daughter Lilibet Is Christened In California

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently marked a special occasion for their baby girl! Last week, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex officially announced that their 21-month-old daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, had been christened during a private ceremony at their residence in Montecito, California.

” I am pleased to confirm that the Reverend John Taylor, Archbishop of Los Angeles, will baptize Princess Lilibet Diana on Friday, March 3, at the Cathedral of the Archbishop of Los Angeles.

According to media reports, between 20 and 30 guests attended the wedding ceremony, including Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry, and an unnamed godmother by whom she was accompanied. According to the outlet, guests were provided food and dancing after the ceremony, which lasted about 30 minutes.

Meghan And Harry Invited Harry’s Family To The Celebration

Also invited were Harry and Meghan’s relatives, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, King Charles III, and Camila. According to Perry, he opened up about the moment when the duke and duchess asked him to be Lilibet’s godfather last year. As well as his apprehensions about attending the royal family’s christening in the U.K., the award-winning director spoke candidly about his concerns.

Perry said in Netflix’s docuseries, Harry & Meghan, “I called back and said, ‘Uh, hold on a second, do we have to go over to the U.K. and do all of that in church? Because I don’t want to do that,'” she said. However, if it is necessary to do it there, then it is acceptable to do a little ceremony here in the U.S..”

Harry says his children can develop a strong relationship with the royal family under his guidance. People quoted him as saying: “I would love nothing more than for our children to have relationships with my family members.”

A royal title of prince and princess was given to Lilibet and her 3-year-old brother, Archie, when their grandfather, King Charles III, took the throne following his mother’s death. Under the rules established by King George V in 1917, this change was made. King Charles’ coronation ceremony also coincides with Lilibet’s christening. The monarch has invited Harry and Meghan, but their attendance still needs to be confirmed.
