A month after announcing her pregnancy, Jessie J has revealed the sex of her soon-to-be-born baby. The singer took to Instagram on Sunday to post a special video and announce that she is going to have a boy.
Just hours after posting the special message, Jessie was seen flaunting her baby bump on the red carpet event for BRIT Awards 2023. The 34 year old confirmed her pregnancy on January 7 and has been sharing regular updates with her followers ever since.
Jessie J Reveals She is Going to Have a Baby Boy
In the video posted on Instagram, Jessie is seen singing an upcoming song and holding her baby bump. She says ‘hi’ to her belly as she sings about ‘something’s changed.’ She confirmed the sex of her baby in the caption and wrote, “Since I wrote this song every time I play it or sing it he moves like crazy…so I think this song is the one.”
“Oh yeah…I’m having a boy. And I promise I am wearing underwear,” she added. Her friends and fans sent their wishes to the singer through their comments. The same evening, Jessie made head turns as she looked gorgeous while walking the red carpet of the BRIT Awards.
The Price Tag singer wore an all-red ensemble and pulled her hair back, the same style which was also seen in her Instagram clip earlier in the day. Jessie also proudly flaunted her baby bump as she posed for the cameras at the event.
The Singer Announced Her Pregnancy in January This Year
Much like the sex of the baby, the news of Jessie’s pregnancy was also announced by her on Instagram. She posted an emotional video featuring her song ‘Sunflower’ on January 7, which showcased a positive pregnancy test, the sonography of the baby, and the singer’s gradually increasing baby bump.
“I am so happy and terrified to finally share this… Please be gentle with me 🫂Honestly, ya girl just wants to ugly cry in public in a catsuit eating a chocolate covered pickle with no questions asked 🤸🏻♂️,” she wrote in the caption, and received congratulatory messages from her fans.
Jessie Previously Suffered a Miscarriage in 2021
Last year, the British singer opened up about the grief she felt while suffering a miscarriage in November 2021. “When I was 16 years old, I wrote a list of things I wanted by the time I was 30. [First] thing on the list was to be a Mum,” she said.
“Now I’m nearly 35 and some days the grief of losing a baby and it not being easy to have one, and wanting my life in that way to look completely different to what it looks like right now just overwhelms me,” Jessie added.
She further stated, “To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again. I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok. I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t.”
