A rainbow baby is on the way for the 36-year-old pro from “Dancing With The Stars” and her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, after they announced on Friday that they had suffered many miscarriages and had undergone a successful IVF procedure.

It has been confirmed that Peta Murgatroyd is expecting a baby. On Friday, the 36-year-old professional dancer announced that she and her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, will have a rainbow baby after she suffered multiple miscarriages and was put through one round of IVF treatment before giving birth.

“We have a healthy bun in the oven,” Murgatroyd captioned an Instagram photo of her baby bump. “It was a shock to all of us, and we found out right before I was going in for my second round of IVF,” said the star, adding that she was expecting her second child soon. “This news has brought extraordinary happiness to our family, and we have much to be grateful for.”

In June, Murgatroyd is expecting her second child. Upon the birth of their son Shai in January 2017, she and Chmerkovskiy, 42, became parents for the first time.

It Has Been A Real Struggle For The Couple To Get Pregnant With Baby Number Two

It was no secret that the dancers had plans to give the little one a sibling over the years. However, they had difficulty conceiving baby number two as they struggled to create baby number one. She revealed in June 2022 that she had suffered her first pregnancy loss in a Whole Foods bathroom in 2020 when she was nine months pregnant.

The Australian told the media that she was sitting in the bathroom sobbing when the incident took place. “That was something that will probably live with me for the rest of my life, being on that toilet by myself, knowing what was happening and not being able to stop it.” She added.

After describing her first miscarriage, Murgatroyd continued to tell about two more miscarriages, feeling embarrassed and ashamed that she had experienced them. As for Chmerkovskiy, he was upset about the loss, and he was distraught about it. In an interview with the magazine, he explained, “I never expected that two healthy, athletic people could be in a predicament like this. It is a tough situation to process.”

However, after the couple saw a fertility specialist and discussed their options, they felt a sense of hope and positivity. A few months later, Murgatroyd was put under the knife for egg retrieval to begin the process of IVF, having been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome the previous month.

According to the statement she shared with her Instagram followers on June 20, 2022, “We retrieved 40 eggs out of 27 follicles. One nurse said it was the highest number she’d seen. So keep your fingers crossed that we have a few baby Chmerkovskiys waiting for us soon!”

The choreographer was nearing the end of the process at the end of July 2022. Murgatroyd revealed at the time, “There should be — fingers crossed — a pregnancy pretty soon. This is the path for us.” However, in a video posted on her Instagram account the following month, she revealed that the process wasn’t working for her. “This too shall pass,” she captioned the video taken in August 2022.

Many missed pregnancies have plagued the couple over the past few years, and now they are expecting their second baby.
