For all the survival shows enthusiasts, Netflix is coming up with a new series that will suit your taste. The streaming platform has dropped the trailer for its upcoming non-scripted show, Outlast, which will see 16 contestants battling to survive in the Alaskan wilderness.
If they succeed, they take home prize money of $1 million. However, there is a twist: the participants must be a part of a team to win the competition and can not do it alone. Read on to watch the trailer and know more about the show.
Outlast Trailer: 16 Contestants’ Survival Skills Put to Test
The trailer shows the hard struggle the participants will have to go through as they are left in the wilderness in Alaska. From extreme weather to severe hunger, the contestants will have to face it all. “You have to survive as a team, or you go home with nothing,” says the rule.
We then see people teaming up and going against each other. “I’m tired, I’m cold, I’m wet, I’m hungry,” says a contestant. While a woman is also heard saying, “Nothing’s going to be ideal. I won’t survive without you guys.” Another contestant explains, “If they had the opportunity, they would slice our throats.”
Some people are also seen shooting flares, which might be an indication of giving up on the game. Outlast is set to premiere on Netflix on March 10. The show will feature eight episodes, roughly 45 minutes each, all of which will be released at once. Check out the trailer below.
The Winner will Take Home $1 Million
The competition will see ‘16 lone wolves’ being split up into four groups and dropped into the wilderness of Alaska. Making things harder would be the environment, as the game takes place during Fall, when the temperatures are freezing, and there are high chances of rain in the region.
The four teams will be setting up camps at different locations, and the teammates will have to work together if they want to win the prize money of $1 million. Meanwhile, they can also change their teams at any point, which will lead to many betrayals, some unexpected alliances, and ever-changing relationship dynamics.
The tagline of the show says that the enemy is not mother nature; it’s human nature. The official synopsis reads, “A raw survival competition series where 16 lone wolves must outlast each other in the Alaskan wilderness in an attempt to win 1 million dollars. There is only one rule in this cut throat game: they must be a part of a team to win.”
