A Lavish Ceremony at the rustic Vineyards…
Track and Field athlete Sydney McLaughlin exchanged the sacred vows with her long-time love Andre Levrone Jr. The two grew up on the East coast and Lerone calls Charlottesville, Virginia, his “second home” as a graduate of the University of Virginia.
This was one reason to choose Virginia as the venue for their special day. Levrone said, “We figured we wanted to be close enough to family in the northeast but far enough south that the weather was nice. It’s a great spot.”
The two are finally tied for life after their nine months of engagement that took place in August 2021. The Olympic gold medalist McLaughlin stated, “We’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time so just excited that it’s finally here and we can say we’re married.”
The sacred ceremony took place at Madison, Virginia’s romantic and rustic Early Mountain Vineyards. It was made even special with florals created by Sophie Felts Floral Design while the decor was rented from Emerson James, MS Events, and Something Vintage.
It was a rare moment to see the Olympic star out of her practice gears as she looked stunning in a Pallas Couture dress, with a veil by Vera Wang. She was wearing Jimmy Choo heels and accessorized with jewellery from Zales. Her bridal hairdo was done by Jess from Beyotiful Bride. Sydney’s subtle make-up look was given by Michele Eva.
Andre Levrone Jr. was seen in a classic suit by Brian Alexander. He complimented the wedding suit with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and a Tag Heuer watch. The couple were also seen exchanging wedding bands (Blue Nile, her’s Tacori) under the guidance of Pastor Greg Hendricks.
The venue was echoing romance as Chandler Moore & The Gospel group played music for the emotional nuptials. It was like a dream wedding for the two athletes who were seen immersed in each other.
Everything was in Place…
When asked about the wedding planning, McLaughlin said, “The day goes by so fast, so I told our wedding planner, our videographer, our photographer, I just want everything to be at a place where we can truly just enjoy every moment and I think the best wedding advice.”
She added, “What I received was that no wedding is perfect, there’s always something that’s going to go wrong, so making sure that you’re truly in the moment and just enjoying it and taking it for what it is, because before you know it, it’s over.” Makes sense, isn’t it?
Echoes Levrone Jr. also spoke about the pre-wedding anxiety and said, “With having the majority of all of our planning and whatever anxiety out of the way beforehand, as we stood at the altar and looked each other in the eye, we, like, held eternity at that moment.”
Sydney won the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist with the current world record of 51.46 seconds. She is the first woman to have broken the 52 seconds in the 400 m hurdles when she set a world record of 51.90 s at the 2020 USA Olympic trials.
On the other hand, the former NFL player Andre attended the University of Virginia and played in 22 games, catching 46 passes for 864 yards and 8 touchdowns. After his college career, he went undrafted in the NFL but signed a contract with Baltimore Ravens.
Andre spent parts of three seasons with Baltimore, Carolina and Jacksonville before retiring at the age of 25 in 2020. This was the year when Sydney had bagged 2 Olympic Golds, 2 world records, & a host of other accolades The two just had the most memorable moment of their life.
