Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis had enough drama over Harry Styles, who is now out of the picture. Now, their former nanny, Ericka Genar, who worked for the couple between 2018 to 2021, filed a lawsuit against the couple for “Wrongful termination”. She claims that the couple’s tumultuous relationship affected her in the worst manner, putting a tremendous burden on her. Read on to know what this nanny is claiming from the dramatic stars.
What’s The Lawsuit About?
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ former nanny, Ericka Genar, who worked for the couple between 2018 to 2021, has filed a lawsuit against the couple for wrongful termination. Per court documents, Erika alleges that she had to undertake an increased parenting role to the couple’s kids, Otis (8) and Daisy (6) after Wilde left Jason for Harry Styles.
The former nanny’s attorney alleges that the pressure of “not only being the primary caretaker of the children but also filling their mother’s absence became extremely “debilitating” for their client. The attorney also alleges that when the news of their breakup broke, Genaro’s “anxiety and stress did not get any better”. Not only this, but the couple engaged in group therapy sessions with the former nanny.
However, Ericka is suing the couple for “wrongful termination” as the suit claims that when medical professionals asked Ericka to take a three-day break from work, Sudeikis fired her on the spot. “Employees are most vulnerable when they need time off to care for themselves,” Genaro’s attorney Ron Zambrano said in a statement. “Laws are in place for just that reason, to afford them peace of mind to take that time without fear of losing their job.”
Previous Claims By An Unidentified Nanny…
If you remember, in October 2022, an unidentified nanny claimed that it was Olivia who made the first move on Harry Styles, and that led to the former couple’s breakup. She stated that “Sudeikis was infuriated with Olivia as she prepared a salad for Styles with her ‘special dressing’ in the family kitchen”. These claims were shut down by Olivia Wilde.
Not only this, but she made several other claims, such as Jason learnt about Olivia’s affair with the pop star through her Apple Watch. She alleged that Jason banned the staff from listening to Harry Styles’s music. She revealed that Jason was completely heartbroken, and said, “I felt for him. He started telling me details.”
While we can bet these claims were made by Ericka (considering her term of employment), Jason and Olivia released a joint statement via their rep to shut down these allegations: “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly.
“Her now an 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone,” the couple spoke back then.
Coming back to the lawsuit, the couple’s former nanny is seeking punitive damages for discrimination, failure to accommodate her “disability of anxiety/depression,” failure to engage in the interactive process and retaliation, loss of earnings, deferred compensation and other employment benefits.
