Nicole Kidman Bids A Whopping $100,000 On Hugh Jackman’s ‘Music Man’ Hat for Charity

Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman showcased unconditional support for Hugh Jackman’s charity auction for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS over the weekend. The 55-year-old actress stunned everyone at the Winter Garden Theatre when she paid $10,000 for her pal, Hugh Jackman’s hat from his starring run in Broadway’s revival of The Music Man.

A Viral Video Of Nicole’s Generosity…

Nicole Kidman is the most generous heart out there. A clip from Hugh Jackman’s charity auction for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is circulating all over the internet and has left many speechless. In the said clip, Hugh and his co-star Nicholas Ward can be seen in costume while running the auction, as they request the audience to beat the standing bid of $19,000.

The subject matter of this bid was Hugh Jackman’s hat from his starring run in Broadway’s revival of The Music Man. When asked to bid, Nicole can be seen yelling out, “a hundred thousand”, which led the crowd speechless at the Winter Garden Theatre. Even Jackman’s jaw dropped as the 55-year-old actress walked down the aisle to hug her pal.

“The generosity emanating from #NicoleKidman leaves me speechless! You ARE amazing. Thank you for your friendship and support!” Jackman, 54, wrote on Twitter alongside Nicole’s generous video. Nicole Kidman’s six-figure donation is by far the largest donation for any one auction item ever.

Not Australian Dollars, Just To Be Clear…

Nicole’s bid came during the final week of Broadway Cares’ Red Bucket Fall Fundraising Campaign, which is dedicated to raising money to “provide meals and medication, health care and hope for those living with HIV/AIDS, struggling with COVID-19 or facing other life-threatening challenges this holiday season.”

A funny moment during the bid came when Nicole was reminded by Hugh Jackman that she isn’t bidding Australian dollars. “Nic! I just want to be clear, this is not Australian dollars,” he called out his co-star from “Australia”. On this, Kidman returned to the stage and said, “I love you, I love Broadway. I love what they do, Broadway Cares. But I also want to say the show was extraordinary.”

Jackman then handed over his hat, which she even put on before heading back to her seat. After Kidman’s generous contribution, Jackman stated that he has known Nicole for almost 30 years. “I’ve worked with her. I can tell you, this is not a surprise. She’s one of the most generous souls I know. You’re a beautiful, beautiful person. I love you,” the actor stated.

Broadway Cares also released a statement thanking Nicole for her humble contribution, stating: “Broadway Cares is blessed with friends across Broadway. But we have no greater champion than Hugh Jackman. This extraordinary gift from his pal Nicole Kidman is by far the largest donation for any one auction item ever. There is much for which to be grateful this Thanksgiving weekend!”

Consistently ranked among the highest-paid actors, Kidman is known for her humble charities.  She has successfully raised money and garnered attention to disadvantaged children around the world. In 1994, she was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

In 2006, Kidman was also appointed Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). In 2016, she donated $50,000 to UN Women. The “Rabbit Hole” star’s net worth presently stands roughly at $250 million, and Kidman is sharing it well with the world. What do you think about this donation?
