Get ready to witness the adventures of Devi Vishwakumar one last time! Netflix has released the official trailer for the fourth and final season of its hit high-school comedy Never Have I Ever.
The final season looks as quirky and dramatic as the previous ones as Devi continues to juggle friendships, family, relationships, and studies, and now also have to worry about getting into her dream college. Read on to watch the trailer and know more about the new season.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Trailer Teases a ‘Banging Senior Year’ for Devi
The trailer picks off directly after the season 3 finale when Devi and her frenemy and on-and-off love interest finally did the deed. Things soon get awkward between the two as Devi avoids talking to Ben to avoid confrontation, but gets jealous looking at him as he kisses someone else. ‘A Banging Ending’ reads the message over the footage.
“I assumed it was, like, a one-time thing,” says Ben to an angry Devi. Paxton is then seen returning to the school and again having a little moment with the protagonist. Meanwhile, a classmate Ethan has turned hot during the summer and is now on the wishlist of every girl in the class, including Devi.
As she again tries to balance her love life and studies, Devi is also aiming at getting into Princeton College. The trailer also shows some hilarious moments with her friends and family, including Eleanor, Fabiola, Kamala, Nalini, and Dr. Jamie Ryan. The 10-episode final season of Never Have I Ever will premiere on Netflix on June 8th.
Showrunner Says the Ending will Divide the Audience
Lang Fisher, who co-created the series along with Mindy Kaling talked about the final season in an interview and revealed that since different viewers ship Devi with different people, a section will find the ending unsatisfactory, based on whom the high-schooler ends up with eventually.
“I think there’s gonna be a subset of people who are disappointed because, you know, the love triangle comes to an end and decisions are made. But I hope that we did it in a way that even people who may have lost in some sense, feel like they won,” said Fisher.
“I think we did a good job… But because of that, I do feel like we have created a monster that is really 50/50, and people feel very strongly,” she added. Meanwhile, Kaling opened up about why they decided to end the show after four seasons, revealing that it was a creative decision since a high-school drama can only last until the protagonists graduate.
The Cast will Reprise their Roles in the New Season
