Netflix’s “The Ultimatum” Upcoming Season To Showcase All-Queer Couples

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move premiered last year, with its hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey. As the duo continued with the self-proclaimed social experiment, watching couples get married when faced with an ultimatum, this series soon reached number one on Netflix. Now, the show is coming back with a brand new season!

The Ultimatum: Queer Love features an all-queer couple’s journey, with a predominantly female cast, and fans are loving the concept. The first look of the second season was revealed during the Love is Blind live reunion as JoAnna Garcia Swisher takes over as the new host.

The Ultimatum: Queer Love Is A Whole New Deal

The Ultimatum became the number-one Netflix show since its premiere in 2022. Now, the series is all geared up for a new season, showcasing all-queer stories. The first look of “The Ultimatum: Queer Love” was revealed during the Love is Blind live reunion.

The first season spent four weeks in the Netflix Global Top Ten. In the upcoming Season, five queer couples will embark on a journey, where they are at a crossroads in their respective relationships.

When Is The Ultimatum Season 2 Releasing?

“The Ultimatum” season 2 is expected to debut on May 24. A teaser for the show has already been released, showcasing five couples, including women and non-binary people. This time, the ultimatum suggests that in just over eight weeks, each couple will either get married or get out, as they choose new potential partners. The official logline of the show reads:

“The Ultimatum universe is expanding to showcase more stories of love, relationships, and the ups and downs of commitment. In ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love,’ five new couples, made up of women and nonbinary people, are at a crossroads in their relationship.”

“One partner is ready for marriage, the other may have doubts. An ultimatum is issued. And in just over eight weeks, each couple will either get married or get out, after they each choose new potential partners in a life-changing opportunity to get a glimpse of two different futures.”

A dramatic trailer, released on Sunday, features the new host JoAnna Garcia Swisher. “We, along with Netflix, sort of decided to create a new franchise where there’s ‘Ultimatum: Marry or Move On’ and there’s ‘Ultimatum: Queer Love,’ and felt like it made sense to differentiate the two,” executive producer and Kinetic Content CEO Chris Coelen revealed in an interview.

He stated that the two shows are very similar in their DNA, but a different host and a different version are what spices up things a bit. The show is executive produced by Coelen, Eric Detwiler, Sarah Dillistone, and Stephanie Boyriven. Gear up because this time it’s going to be different.
