The three-episode horror series stars Radhika Apte and Manav Kaul. “Ghoul” follows a prisoner that arrives at a remote military interrogation center and shakes up the interrogators by exposing their secrets with a supernatural touch. The new prisoner sees all and tests the interrogators by hitting them where it hurts most.
“Ghoul” is Netflix’s first step into Indian horror and is produced in English and Hindi. The show is directed and written by Patrick Graham. It is produced by Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films, Ivanhoe, and Blumhouse. Blumhouse is the production house behind horror flicks like “Get Out” and “Insidious,” which is why it’s no surprise that the trailer of “Ghoul” is terrifyingly entertaining.
Netflix is truly stepping up their game with their Indian content. Over the last few months, Netflix has released their first original romantic-comedy film, “Love per Square Foot,” and new shows like “Lust Stories,” “Sacred Games,” and there are many more in the works, including Salman Rushdie’s “Midnight’s Children.”
“Ghoul” will release with all three episodes on August 24 worldwide.
