Crystal Renay is pulling the plug off her marriage to Ne-Yo. As per the reports, soon after, accusing the American singer-songwriter of cheating, Renay filed the divorce documents earlier this week.

Ne-Yo’s wife Crystal has filed for divorce
Yes, you read that right. According to the reports of TMZ, Crystal filed the divorce papers earlier this week in Atlanta. In the divorce documents obtained by the media outlet, Renay has claimed that the couple’s marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.”
As per the divorce documents, the date listed for the pair’s separation is July 22, 2022. Renay also stated that since the split she has been taking care of their three kids. At the moment, she is seeking primary physical custody of the kids and joint legal custody. In addition to this, she is also asking for child support and alimony.
Over the last couple of years, Ne-Yo and Crystal’s marriage has been through many ups and downs. Renay first filed for divorce from the Sick So singer in February of 2020 but later on, she withdrew the case. The pair reconciled their romance four months later. He proposed to Crystal for the second time on the occasion of New Year’s Eve in the year 2020.
Back in the day, Ne-Yo gave the Covid-19 pandemic a lot of credit for saving their marriage. While making an appearance on the CBS chat show The Talk, Ne-Yo said, “Before the quarantine happened, we were definitely talking divorce, and the quarantine forced us to sit still, block out the noise from the world – you know the world can get very, very loud, and we tend to let the world’s opinion mean more in certain situations than it should.”

The pair shares a total of three children, two sons, and a daughter. Shaffer Chimere Smith popularly known as Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal revealed in September of 2015 that they were engaged and expecting their first child together. Their first child, son, Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr., joined them earthside on March 15, 2016.
The Grammy winner’s wife gave birth to her and Ne-Yo’s second child, son, Roman Alexander-Raj Smith on June 14, 2018. The third child of the pair, a daughter named  Isabella Rose Smith came into the world on June 25, 2021.

On July 30, Crystal took to her Instagram and shared a post alleging NE-YO was unfaithful to her in their marriage and that the pair’s years-long relationship is now over. On the other hand, Ne-Yo has stated that he will not comment on personal matters.
In her post which has now been taken down, Renay wrote, “Eight years. 8 years of lies and deception. 8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and my husband with numerous women who sell their bodies to him unprotected…every last one of them!”
She further added, “To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is a[n] understatement. To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane. The mentality of a narcissist. I will no longer lie to the public or pretend that this is something it isn’t. I choose me, I choose my happiness and health and my respect.”
Renay also went on to say, “I ask that you all please stop sending me videos and information of him cheating because what he does is no longer my concern. I am not a victim. I’m choosing to stand tall with my head held high.”
Ne-Yo’s wife concluded the statement by saying, “If someone can’t love you the way you deserve then it’s up to you to love yourself. With no hate in my heart I wish him nothing but the best.”

Just a day after Crystal put out her post on the social media platform Instagram, Ne-Yo penned down a response to her message on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
The Time Of Our Lives singer tweeted, “For the sake of our children, my family and I will work through our challenges behind closed doors. Personal matters are not meant to be addressed and dissected in public forums. I simply ask that you please respect me and my family’s privacy at this time.”
Ne-Yo and Crystal Renay had a second wedding in Las Vegas in 2022
The couple renewed their wedding vows in an elaborate ceremony in April 2022 in a red-themed Las Vegas soirée after originally tying the knot in 2016. At that time, TMZ broke the news of their second marriage.
According to the media outlet, the couple got married on Sunday night on a rooftop at Resorts World in Vegas. Their wedding ceremony was followed by a grand reception for all their guests. Their wedding was all things swanky and lavish. Post their Las Vegas wedding, the pair shared a lot of photos and videos of their special day on the social networking platform Instagram.
Back then, it was reported for their Las Vegas wedding, the room was decorated with more than 10, 000 roses and it took almost three days to set it up. The wedding cake of the duo was about 8 feet tall with 4 different flavors.
Their wedding was a star-studded affair as it was attended by many A-listers from Hollywood such as Real Housewives Of Atlanta alum Nene Leakes, Tammy Rivera from Love & Hip Hop, and Melody Holt from Love & Marriage: Huntsville.
