After thousands of years in hiding, the Eternals, an immortal alien race, emerge to protect Earth from their evil counterparts, the Deviants, in the film. Critics gave the movie a mixed response. Many individuals consider that any Marvel Studios movie will be prepared for a sequel. But Marvel producer Nate Moore explains that the upcoming release of Eternals will not necessitate one.
Eternals doesn’t really need a sequel, according to Marvel producer Nate Moore. Well, let’s get into deeper details on what was exactly stated.
Eternals Sequel Isn’t A Must-Have
This latest movie welcomed a dozen different characters to the ever-expanding franchise. Laying the groundwork for some of them to have extended on-screen lives in the MCU. But it doesn’t imply more Eternals movies are on the way. Because of the potential concepts, a sequel can be made, but it is not necessary.
Moore discussed the possibility of an Eternals sequel with .The Toronto Sun’. But he stated that it is not a must-have. He indicated clearly that they have concepts for a possible sequel, but that it will not be necessary.
Here’s what he had to say: “It’s not something that is a must-have.” Adding, “Obviously, we have ideas of where we could go, but there isn’t a hard and fast rule where we have to have three of these things and this is the first.”
A ‘Standalone’ Movie
According to Moore, it was created to be a ‘standalone’ movie. That could be enjoyed without having to watch the rest of the series. Moore explained, “I think the Infinity Stones fell into our lap and really helped connect things in ways that felt unexpected and earned. Adding, “If you just watch Eternals, you can enjoy Eternals, you can understand Eternals and you’re good to go.”
With so much background and character development required for these individuals, adding additional MCU themes would have been difficult. Moore added, “We felt like there was enough story that it could be a contained universe. We definitely have ideas of how things can cross over later. But this movie, with 10 characters and Dane Whitman and the Celestials and the Deviants, there was enough for us to play with.”
As we discussed before, Eternals was labelled as one of the ‘Worst Marvel Movie’ but it’s different for few individuals. While the majority of the criticism has been on the movie’s vast scope and sluggish pacing. Many fans have expressed a desire to see Marvel take another shot at it.
Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, and Salma Hayek are among the cast members.
As part of the MCU’s Phase Four, the movie will be released in theaters in the United States on November 5. In addition, depending on the reviews we discussed earlier, the movie gets a 58 percent approval rating. It has sunk since the last time we discussed it. You can look it up here.
