Martha Stewart is the oldest model to pose for ‘Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’ cover
Martha Stewart has made history by becoming the oldest model to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. She is one of the four models to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue. Along with Stewart, actress Megan Fox, musician Kim Petras, and model Brooks Nader will also grace the cover of the magazine.
In a video shared by the magazine, Stewart who is well known for her work as a model, host, businesswoman, and chef, talked about her latest achievement and said, “When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated.’”
The 81-year-old business mogul went on to say, “And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.” When she was asked why she decided to participate in the shoot, she stated that she wanted to prove that age doesn’t matter when it comes to things such as “friendship or in terms of success”.
The cookbook author mentioned what’s important is “what people do, how people think, how people act”.

SI Swim’s editor-in-chief, MJ Day also took the opportunity to gush over Martha’s mindset by saying, “Never in her life has [Martha] let her circumstances dictate her outcome. She’s changed with the times – always one step ahead, it seems – to build a wide-reaching business empire.”
While making an appearance on the Today Show, the Emmy-award-winning host said, “To be on the cover at my age was a challenge. And I think I met the challenge.” She confessed that she didn’t starve herself to prepare for the shoot.
However, Martha avoided bread or pasta for a couple of months and did Pilates every other day. She continued, “It is a testament to good living. I think all of us should think about good living and not about aging. The whole aging thing is so boring.”
For her cover shoot, the television personality traveled to the Dominican Republic. During the shoot, she underwent a total of 10 wardrobe changes. She slayed in different swimsuits.
