During an appearance on the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” telethon, Academy Award-winning actress, Marcia Gay Harden revealed that all her three children: Hudson Harden Scheel (19), Julitta Dee Harden (19), and Eulala Scheel (24), are all “queer”. She explained:

“What drives me is because it’s right, and what’s happening right now is wrong, What drives me is — my children are all queer. My eldest child is non-binary. My son is gay. My youngest is fluid. And you know, they are my kids, and they teach me every day.”

The Country Will Fight Against Fear And Hatred

The “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” live telethon took place on Sunday (May 7, 2023) to raise money against the recent anti-LGBTQ legislation, which is causing panic and fear among other people. Indulging in a conversation with Adam Shankman, the actress dismissed the ongoing panic against the LGBTQ+ community and said:

“This is so fear-based and it’s spreading that kind of fear and hatred among other people. I believe this country will fight that.”

Not only this, but fellow actor Charlize Theron also made a pretaped appearance during the fundraiser, which managed to raise over $540,000 of donations, which further goes to charities like GLSEN, GLAAD, Black Queer, The ACLU Drag Defense Fund and Victory Fund.

“We love you, queens. We’re in your corner and we’ve got you, and I will fuck anybody up who’s trying to fuck with anything with you guys,” Theron, who is also a parent to a transgender daughter, said. Per ACLU, a record number of over 474 pieces of anti-LGBTQ legislation have already been introduced during the 2023 legislative session.

For instance, Florida’s bill that opponents labeled “Don’t Say Gay”, restricts in-school discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity. In Tenessee, the proposed bill bans drag performances.
