Lil Nas X rose to fame with country rap Old Town Road. Now, the 22-year old American Rapper has been awarded, ‘Male Artist of the Year’ at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards. And I must confess, he deserves the title for the most heartfelt speech ever.
It’s okay to be delusional…

“It’s OK to be delusional when you’re chasing your dreams”, said Lil Nas X as he received the Male Artists of the Year Award. Lil’s fans couldn’t stop screaming during his heartfelt speech at the 2022 iHeart Awards and he had to beg them to let him finish.
In his speech, Lil narrated the story of a recent TikTok video that inspired people to be delusional. But later, he could connect with the video considering his music career. Well, Lil had his share of ups and downs.

In his speech, Lil said:
“I wouldn’t be where I am right now, in my life and my career, if I weren’t delusional. Believing I could drop out of school and become an international success within a year. It’s delusional! Believing that I could come out of the closet in the height of my career… to think that I could do that would be delusional!”
I heard his speech and I am inspired. Aren’t you? The speech was as refined as it could get. Moreover, it’s a way mature speech to come from a 22-year-old star. I can’t think of anyone better to take away this title.
