Kelly Ripa suffered a wardrobe malfunction during her second Live! episode alongside her husband, Mark Consuelos. The sporty couple, however, quickly overcame the awkward moment as Consuelos reassured his wife, showing her that one of the strings from her dress had ripped off.
It All Happened During A Jive!
American actress and talk show host, Kelly Ripa may have been saddened for a while by Ryan Seacrest’s departure, but the 52-year-old star is having a gala time with her new co-host, husband, Mar Consuelos.
However, the couple did face a moment of awkwardness as Ripa suffered a wardrobe malfunction. The hosts were joined by “Dancing With The Stars” pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy, who taught them how to jive.
As Consuelos dipped Ripa onto his knee, she popped a string in the back of her gorgeous hot pink dress. She instantly asked, “Did the entire back of my dress rip?” Ripa soon turned the moment into a joke as she continued “It’s just a breakaway dress!”
Mark, being the gentleman, soon held his wife’s back, and said, “Nope! Nope! Just a little bit.” He reassured her and told her that only a string had been ripped off. But this was not the only wardrobe malfunction.
As the two continued with the choreography, she revealed that she tore her dress, and lost a shoe while practicing during the commercial break. Jenna gave a sporty response to this, “That’s what dance is all about….take it off!”
Is Mark Consuelos Doing Justice To The Show?
While it’s true that no host can replace Ryan Seacrest, who became a household name during his days on “American Idol”, Kelly Ripa chose to host ‘Live!’ with her husband. But again, it is the fans who haven’t moved on yet.
Kelly and Mark have been facing criticism after officially launching “Live with Kelly and Mark” following Ryan Seacrest’s departure from the daytime talk show. Seacrest was given an emotional farewell, and guess what, her secret girlfriend was also present alongside his parents during the special moment.
Many critics have come forward, stating that they do not like watching Kelly and Mark together. Seacrest, on the other hand, was sort of a storyteller and could connect well with the audience. One viewer tweeted, “Gosh I don’t know with them together.”
Another tweeted, “I am not a fan. Loved Ryan and all his stories, he brought another layer to the show.” One criticized, “Kelly and Mark look uncomfortable together, it’s hard to watch. Mark as a fill-in cohost was fun to watch. This isn’t fun to watch anymore. Need Ryan back.” Well, Ryan Seacrest ain’t coming back for sure so you might as well change the channel.
