A new sequel of the Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun is in progress, as Kadokawa has recently announced that the production is in development. The Golden City of the Scorching Sun aired its last episode on 28th September 2022 with 12 episodes.

Kadokawa’s official announcement on Twitter of season 2 of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun came through a special announcement. A promotional video was also released with the announcement, which gave the audiences a glimpse of the sequel. But many details about the series are not available about the series.
The anime is based on Tsukushi Akihito’s Made in Abyss sci-fi manga. Fans can globally stream the show on Amazon Prime and Crunchyroll. However, HIDIVE had the steaming rights of the show in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the sequel this time.
What to Expect From the Anime?
The official synopsis of Made in Abyss suggests: “In an age when the corners of the world have been scoured for their secrets, only one place remains unexplored-a massive cave system known as the Abyss, filled with monstrous creatures and lost relics. Those who delve into its depths are known as Cave Raiders. A young orphan named Riko dreams of following in her mother’s footsteps as a Cave Raider, and when she meets a strange robot while exploring the Abyss, she is one perilous step closer to achieving her goal!”
The series will follow the adventures of Riko, Reg, and Nanachi. These three will go further deep into Abyss with the help of their new alley Faputa. The season 2 finale covered the sixth layer of the Abyss. At this moment, the anime is three chapters behind the manga.
