Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney have teamed up to star in a new movie, Echo Valley. The story follows the relationship between a mother and daughter as they navigate their way through life. Moore will play the role of the mother, while Sweeney will take on the role of her daughter.

Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby will write the screenplay. Kate Garrett, the mother of the film, and Claire Garrett, the daughter, will be portrayed by Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore and Emmy Award nominee Sydney Sweeney.

It will blend drama and thriller set on twenty-two picturesque acres at Echo Valley Farm in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Amid a personal tragedy, Kate resides on the farm where she boards and trains horses.

A frightened, trembling Claire (Sweeney), covered in someone else’s blood, arrives on her doorstep late one night, upending her quiet farm life. Echo Valley’s official synopsis explores a mother’s commitment to saving her child.

Julianne Moore & Sydney Sweeney: Let’s Meet

This is Moore’s second collaboration with AppleTV+, following her role in Lisey’s Story, based on the Stephen King novel she starred in. In addition, she produced Sharper, a psychological thriller Apple recently released. Moore was known for embodying emotionally complex characters and is considered one of her era’s greatest actresses.

Best Actress Academy Award for Still Alice (2014), in which she played an Alzheimer’s patient. Moore has demonstrated multi-genre versatility from big-budget movies like The Hunger Games to indie projects. Mary & George, a historical miniseries, and May December, a romance drama starring Natalie Portman, are among her upcoming projects.

The Handmaid’s Tale and Everything Sucks have been turning heads, but Sweeney has been tearing down. The White Lotus and Euphoria, which earned her Emmy nods, have also featured her. She has received resounding praise for her portrayal of Reality Leigh Winner in Reality, which has been described as her best performance yet. A new Marvel movie, Madame Web, will feature her as Julia Carpenter, a superhero.

Here Are The People Behind Echo Valley’s Production

Apple Studios produces Echo Valley with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Films and Kevin Walsh’s The Walsh Company. Her previous collaborations with Scott Free include Our Friend (2019), and she will produce along with Michael Pruss, with whom she worked on the original story.

American Woman (2015) reunited Walsh, Scott, and Ingelsby from their previous collaboration. BAFTA Award-winning director Michael Pearce, who directed Beast and Encounter, will run Echo Valley. Scott Greenberg, Rebecca Feuer of Scott Free, and Nicole Jordan-Webber will executively produce the film. Sam Roseme and Erika Olde will also executively have through Black Bicycle Entertainment, with Tanja Tawadjoh co-producing.

Echo Valley looks set to become another critical hit from Apple Studios with its formidable team. In addition to Echo Valley, another highly anticipated project from the streamer is Killers of the Flower Moon. Filming for the series is slated for this summer.
