Indian-American actress Janina Gavankar has bagged the role of a regular on Fox’s newest comedy pilot. The show co-stars Efin Foster and Don Johnson. Foster along with “New Girl” creator Liz Meriwether, 20th Century Fox and 3 Arts Entertainment are the minds behind this new show.
The plot of the show is actually based loosely on Foster’s real life. Foster plays Andi, a 30-something single girl who can’t seem to settle down and is close to her playboy father, played by Johnson. Things get weird when her dad falls in love with her best friend Sasha, played by Gavankar. Awkward, much?
This show promises to be hilarious and the versatile Gavankar is just the girl they need. The stunning actress has made quite a name for herself within the television industry in the past few years. Gavankar has been on shows like “The L Word,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “NCIS,” “Dollhouse,” “The Cleaner, ” “The Gates,” “Traffic Light,” “True Blood.” “Arrow,” The Mysteries of Laura,” “The Vampire Diaries,” and most recently, “Sleepy Hollow.”
