Yeah, you read that right. The Oscar-winning actor and his daughter Corinne are ready to host a new game show together called We Are Family. The news was confirmed via a statement on May 15, 2023.
In a statement issued on Monday, Jamie Foxx and his daughter Corinne said, “We are thrilled to be developing ‘We Are Family’ with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment.”
The father-daughter duo went on to say, “We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”
This is the not first time that Jamie and his daughter Corinne will be working together on a project. In the past, the father-daughter duo has joined hands for the music game show “Beat Shazam.” They have served as the hosts of the game show for the last 5 seasons.
Jamie and Corinne’s new game show called We Are Family is set to premiere sometime next year. As per various reports, many non-famous relatives performing duets will be invited to the show. They will mark their presence at the show with their famed family member who is hidden.
It has been reported that a total of 100 contestants will be taking part in the game show and they will compete to win up to $100,000 by correctly guessing who the other mysterious celebrities are.
Nick Cannon hosted the show ‘Beat Shazam’ amid Jamie Foxx’s hospitalization
Earlier this month, Nick Cannon and Kelly Osbourne took over the music game show as Jamie was dealing with his health issues in the hospital.
At that time, a statement was issued on the show’s official page that read, “This season, not wanting fans of the game show to miss a minute of the fun, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as guest host for his friends, Jamie and Corinne Foxx.”
The social media post further read, “Kelly Osbourne will be filling in as DJ. Everyone at FOX Entertainment wishes Jamie well as he continues his recovery, and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to jump in and help this summer.”
Jamie Foxx was recently released from the hospital
The Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx who was reportedly dealing with a medical issue has been released from the hospital. Not long ago, his daughter Corinne put out a statement to share an update on her famous father’s health.
Last week on Thursday, it was reported that Jamie’s health had worsened and his family was preparing for the worst-case scenario. Then, his daughter Corinne came forward to clear the air and set the record straight once and for all.
At that point in time, Corinne took to her Instagram page to debunk all the rumors swirling in the air about her father’s health scare. Then, she stated that her father “has been out of the hospital for weeks” and has an “exciting work announcement” coming next week.
In a statement issued, Jamie’s daughter Corinne said, “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support. We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
What happened to Jamie Foxx?
Jamie Foxx who has starred in movies such as Day Shift, Ray, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Rio, and many more was rushed to the hospital in Georgia last month after he suffered a medical emergency on the set of his forthcoming action movie Back in Action. Then, he was filming the Netflix movie with his co-star Cameron Diaz. He was last seen on the set of the movie on April 10.
In a previous Instagram post, Corinne shared, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
At that time, the production of the movie was resumed a few days after Foxx’s hospitalization with a body double for the top star. After 2 weeks, a source told People magazine, “He’s OK, thank God. He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.”
On May 4, 2023, the Golden Globe winner put out his first statement since his hospitalization. Then, Foxx shared with his 16.4 million Instagram followers that he is grateful for their love and support.
