The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself premiered on Netflix on October 28, 2022. The season had a total of eight episodes. Nathan Byrn, 16, was monitored by The Council of Fairborn Witches for several years after becoming revealed as the illegitimate son of Marcus Edge, the ‘World’s Most Dangerous Blood Witch.’
However, as the dispute between Blood Witch and Fairborn Witch warmed up, Nathan discovered a way to flee. As he fled, he formed alliances with Annalise and Gabriel while learning completely undiscovered secrets about himself.
After watching the series spectators are pretty curious about the renewal of another season. Let’s explore.
Is ‘The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself’ Season 2 Happening?
The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself has not yet been renewed for a second season. And it’s not surprising given how recently the series was released.
It’s worth noting that the show is based on Sally Green’s Half Bad novels and is a trilogy. And there’s still enough material for more seasons. However, it is the choice of the creator and the streaming platform if they want to move forward.
Netflix takes its time before renewing a series for another season, and it is mostly dependent on the series’ viewership and audience preferences.
Creator Joe Barton explained the few changes that took place in the adaptation.
He said, “It’s a spiritual adaptation, really – it’s the main three characters that are in the book and the world that Sally sets up, but in the book, Annalise isn’t in it a huge amount.
We wanted to bring her in and keep her in it more because I always liked the idea of these three kids and their interactions and the complexities of their relationships.”
The Future Possibility Of ‘The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself’ Seems Positive
Though a renewal is still unknown, there is a chance that the series will return for another season. Aside from the viewership, there is enough material.
And the team members of the show have explained that they would like to return to explore further and tell more detailed stories.
Jay Lycurgo, who starred in the show, stated that another season should happen and that it would be a good run.
“My point with season 2 is that we’re in a really great place in a world where we’ve only looked at a small chunk of it. There’s so much more to explore. That’s what’s great about fantasy.
Also because we have the urban culture in it as well, the urban feel of cities, there are so many places these characters could go. There are so many more places the characters can go and there are so many more characters we could be introduced to.”
Nadia Parkes said it would be amazing to return for another season. “Definitely. I love the world, I love all the characters and I don’t feel the stories about these people have all been told. I’m very excited about the thought of doing it again.”
Plus, Isobel Jesper Jones also explained, “We’re always coming up with things that we’d love to do. Jessica and Gabriel [Emilien Vekemans] don’t have anything together in [season 1] but I’d like to have something in the next.”
