Redo of Healer, the anime based on the fantasy light novel series Kaiyari, was well-received by the viewers when it aired last year. Although some criticized the show for its portrayal of extreme violence, poor treatment of female characters, cannibalism, slavery, and torture, it was able to find its own fan following.
Now it has been more than a year since the finale of the first season premiered, and fans have been eagerly waiting for the next installment. But has the anime been renewed? Read on to find out.
Is Redo of Healer Returning with a Second Season?
As of now, there has been no confirmation about the renewal of the show for a second season by the anime studio TNK or the producers. When the first season ended on March 31, 2021, everyone expected an official announcement soon, but unfortunately, that did not happen.
Shortly after the season 1 finale aired, the writer of the light novel, Rui Tsukiyo, also stated in a tweet that the second season had not been confirmed yet. He had tweeted, “Thank you for watching the final episode of Redo of Healer! Bye-bye, Redo of Healer world!”
“Unfortunately, the second season hasn’t been confirmed, but it seems that they are considering it, so please support us so that it can be confirmed possibly! If the second season is decided, you can see that shortly!” the tweet continued.
However, the manga series currently stands at 11 volumes, with the latest one released recently on August 10. So there is a lot of source material to cover for the anime, which looks like a positive sign for the renewal. Outside Japan, the anime has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks.
Redo of Healer Season 2 Expected Plotline
The first season revolved around Keyaru, a healing magician who had been repeatedly abused and sexually assaulted. However, he soon realizes the true potential of his powers and finds out that healing magician is the strongest category of magicians in the world.
He then goes back four years using his powers and magic of Philosopher’s Stone, and decides to redo everything and take revenge on everyone who assaulted him. By the end of the season, Keyaru realizes that he can not be at peace until he takes revenge on Bullet, who had violently raped him earlier.
The next season, if it happens, will feature the journey of Keyaru as he sets his target at Bullet and tries to avenge his assault.
