Better Call Saul ended on a high note, but we’re always hoping for another season of our favorite show. The sixth season scoops up where the fifth left off. Primarily in 2004, four years before Jimmy McGill meets Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
The season continues Jimmy’s transformation into the namesake character, criminal defense lawyer “Saul Goodman,” as he and his wife Kim Wexler carry out their strategy to wreck Howard Hamlin’s career in order to compel a resolution of the Sandpiper case.
It portrays the drug cartel’s responses to the attempted assassination of Lalo Salamanca at the same time. Let’s look into the possibility of another season if you’ve been waiting for it.
Better Call Saul Season 7 Isn’t Happening
Better Call Saul will not be renewed for a seventh season. The show officially ended with its sixth season. And it’s saddening for the spectators. The show is highly successful despite being a spin-off.
Most of the spin-off shows don’t turn out to be amazing and get canceled after a certain period or season. But Better Call Saul actually concluded as per its narrative. And that’s the best thing for the audience. A satisfactory conclusion is all we need from our preferred series.
The co-showrunner and executive producer Peter Gould stated, “My dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill – now AMC and Sony are making that dream come true.”
Gould also stated that he “couldn’t be happier or more prideful” of Better Call Saul. Well, he also wishes to pursue other developments and mentioned ‘never say never.’
“Having said that, I love Albuquerque. I love Bob, I love Rhea, I love Vince, love the whole group so we’ll keep as much of the band together as we can, and also, never say never, who knows how we’re going to feel in a couple of years,” he said.
The Door Is Always Open For Another Series
In June 2022, Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios at AMC Networks stated about another spin-off series. “I think you’d have to ask them. But the door is always open and I long for the day my phone rings and Vince, Peter, or our friends at Sony call to say, ‘Hey, I think we have another show set in this universe.’”
Vince Gilligan also shed some light on a spin-off and mentioned that if another spin-off takes place, it will not be anytime soon.
“I can definitely imagine revisiting it [the Breaking Bad franchise]. Selfishly, I’d like to do so, to keep this thing going.” As if to temper expectations, however, Gilligan then pointed out the perils of over-egging an IP, explaining, “I think there’s a certain point, and it’s hard to define, where you’ve done too much in the same universe.”
In short, the series has concluded, and we will no longer be able to watch our favorite character. But let’s not give up hope because there’s always the possibility of another spin-off.
‘Better Call Saul’ came as a bonus for spectators after ‘Breaking Bad’. You are welcome to stay tuned with us in the future if you want to have more updates.
