Along with the involvement of Dwayne Johnson in the movie and the astounding narrative in the present day, the audience is also particularly interested in the filming locations.
The official synopsis of the movie reads, “In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam has bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Black Adam has gone from man to myth to legend.
Now free, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone.” The filming took in a lot of places that are worth exploring.
Black Adam Filming Locations Explored
Let’s take a look at the locations featured in the movie. The movie’s principal photography started on April 10, 2021, at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with Lawrence Sher representing as cinematographer.
Dwayne Johnson penned, “History in the making, extremely excited and what a humbling moment to share with you. Officially kicking off DAY 1 of filming our BLACK ADAM.”
The busy personality also talked about the team of Black Adam and said, “We have an all-star production crew – incredibly talented, galvanized, committed, and focused to raise the bar and deliver something SPECIAL for the world. This one is an honor.”
Then, the actor announced that the production of the movie has wrapped up [for him] in July 2021. Check out the post below.
Executive producer Dany Garcia confirmed at that time by saying, “We haven’t wrapped yet, so we still have a few more weeks. [Dwayne] wrapped, so that’s kind of a wrap. Black Adam wrapped. But we’ve got a lot of really good things going on that, actually, will continue in LA.”
Shooting scenes then proceeded for several weeks without Johnson, with the production relocating to Los Angeles and wrapping by August 15, 2021. In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming was postponed from its original July 2020 date.
Trilith Studios, Fayette County
The studio served as one of the pivotal locations during the filming of Black Adam. It is situated near Atlanta’s international airport.
The stage, formerly known as Pinewood Atlanta Studios, will be operational in the first quarter of 2022, according to Trilith Studios, and the company then soon started booking productions for the spring of 2022.
Stage 22 is one of the most technologically advanced virtual production facilities. It has an enclosed virtual production volume of 80-by-90-by-26 feet, housed in an 18,000-square-foot purpose-built soundstage.
The footprint is designed to hold large set pieces rolled up in LED panels around the perimeter, including an LED ceiling, and is equipped with game-engine-driven video playback to engross creatives in large-scale, real-time digital environments.
Mitch Bell, Marvel Studios VP of physical production, said in a statement at that time, “Ensuring the success of a virtual production shoot relies on having a rock-solid stage setup and an experienced production team in place.
The Prysm Stage at Trilith is just another example of how we rely on Trilith Studios to bring best-of-class solutions to our productions.”
Many movies and television shows, particularly those created by Marvel Studios, have been developed at the studio.
Fayetteville, Georgia, USA
Fayetteville is the county seat and the largest city in Fayette County. Well, Fayetteville is about 22 miles south of Atlanta. The Fayette County Courthouse, constructed four years after the county and town were founded, is Georgia’s oldest surviving courthouse.
Trilith Studios, located at 461 Sandy Creek Road, is also featured in the movie. And we’ve already mentioned it.
However, the courthouse was also one of the locations. More scenes were shot in and around Ridge Nature Area.
Atlanta, Georgia
Many central scenes were also shot in Atlanta, Georgie. Particularly at Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Park Avenue West Northwest. The park is a 22-acre greenspace that represents Georgia’s inheritance of the Summer Olympic Games in 1996.
One of the filming locations was the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park, located at 450 Auburn Avenue Northeast. National and international visitors flock to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park. Sights can be found throughout the grassy area where Martin Luther King, Jr. was born, idolized, and buried.
Along with that, the Black Adam team was spotted setting up camp at Tiny Doors ATL, 1380 Atlantic Drive Northwest Suite 14100.
Lastly, Los Angeles, California is the largest city in California and is home to a lot of productions. And that includes Black Adam too. Do you know the amazing Hollywood Sign?
Well, the crew was spotted filming around that area too. Venice Beach and a few scenes in ‘Black Adam’ showcase the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard on Vine Street.
What are your thoughts on the locations used in the movie? You are welcome to drop your opinion in the comment section below.
I’m much more interested in how they made the locations look like they do. Article really says nothing about that – I don’t think there’s anywhere around Atlanta that looks like the urban scenes in the movie. So how was that done?
