Dan Reynolds and his estranged wife Aja Volkman have decided to get a divorce. Not long ago, the popular singer’s wife Aja filed divorce papers in Los Angeles, nearly one year after the pair announced their separation.
As of this moment, the American singer-songwriter best noted for hit songs such as Bad Liar, Believer, Demons, Whatever It Takes, Natural and It’s Time has not made an official comment on the divorce.
When did Dan Reynolds and Aja Volkman part ways?
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, Reynolds and Volkman first filed for divorce in the year 2018 but the pair reconciled their romance less than a year later. Then, she shared an emotional message on Instagram.
Aja took to her Instagram page and wrote, “I’m proud of you @danreynolds I’m proud of your humility and ability to still show up as the basketball coaching baby loving Dad that you are. I know that it’s been a crazy road. It’s killed us both in so many moments.”
The frontwoman for the band Nico Vega gushed over her husband and further added, “Last year we killed each other and now we are rebuilding. You can become your worst self in the eye of a giant storm. You almost have to. It’s a rite of passage. It’s the only road to a better existence. A more mature sense of self. An honest unabashed willingness to die a million deaths just to be sincere.”
Volkman went on to say, “That’s what we have done. And now. Honesty. That’s all we need. Continue to rip the bandaid off baby. I’ll do it with you. I’ll walk right through it and love every minute.”
The pair announced their split in April 2018. Then, the rocker issued a statement that read, “After 7 beautiful years together, Aja and I’s marriage has come to an end. Our children continue to be the most important thing in our lives, & we will continue to co-parent them with all our love.”
In a separate tweet, the On Top of the World crooner tweeted to his fans, “I ask that you please respect our privacy at this time as we work through this as a family.” During a 2019 Cover Story for Parents, the exes talked about their separation period and he said, “We’ve been going through marriage counseling and putting in a lot of work to keep our family strong.”
The American singer further added, “Fortunately for us, we worked through it. If that hadn’t have been the case for us, there’s many people before us who paved that route and still raised great kids together or go on to be friends, or whatever it is. Relationships are complex.”
