A new horror movie, ‘Barbarian,’ is streaming just in time for Halloween. If you don’t have any plans for Halloween, watching a horror movie is an alternative. Barbarian is a horror mystery movie about a young woman who uncovers her booked rental home is already occupied by a stranger.
Against her better judgment, she makes the decision to stay the night, but she soon realizes there’s a lot more to be concerned about than just a surprising house guest.
This scary movie is now available to watch from the comfort of your own home. Barbarian was released in the United States by 20th Century Studios on September 9, 2022.
People liked Cregger’s direction and screenplay, as well as the performances of the cast, especially Campbell’s. You’ll be surprised to discover that the movie was a sleeper success at the box office, earning more than $42 million worldwide on a $4.5 million budget.

Due to the positive response from studio test screenings, Disney reportedly decided to keep Barbarian in theatres rather than stream it on Hulu before.
Barbarian is still playing in theatres if you want to watch it with your friends or family. The horror movie will be released in the United Kingdom on October 28, 2022, in Australia. And already released on October 20, 2022, and in New Zealand on October 27, 2022.
If you prefer to watch the movie from the comfort of your own home, the movie is already available for digital download and streaming on HBO Max beginning October 25, 2022.
On October 26, 2022, it was also released on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ as part of the Star content hub in other international territories. Looks like you have a bunch of options.
Barbarian Is Now Available To Stream On Amazon Prime Video
Don’t worry if HBO Max, theatres, and the other options mentioned above aren’t your thing. The movie is also available to watch on Prime Video. You can watch the movie in 4K Ultra HD at home for $15 or rent it from Prime Video for $4.
The offer is only available to Prime Video subscribers. However, you can take advantage of the 30-day free trial. If you don’t want to watch it on Prime, Barbarian is also available to buy in 4K Ultra HD for $15 or rent for $4 on Vudu.
And it’s likely that 20th Century Studios’ movies will be available on Hulu or Disney+ after leaving theatres by the end of 2022. That means we will probably get to watch Barbarian on Hulu too.
No One Wanted To Make ‘Barbarian’
One thing that you might not know about the successful movie is that a lot of people rejected the movie.
Cregger explained, “I made a spreadsheet of every production company that had made a horror movie in the last 15 years and sent it out to all of them, and every one of them said no. They didn’t like that the movie resets on page 50.
They didn’t like that there was a character who was part of Hollywood. And they said nobody wants to follow a rapist for 30 pages. All of these things that people were picking on, especially the lack of structure, were the things that excited me the most.
I knew that if I were to polish those edges, I would be compromising this thing and defanging it before it had a chance.”
Margules added, “We were completely on the same page with Zach on what we wanted the movie to be. “It’s a weird movie on paper, but it’s ‘never’ not funny, scary, thrilling, entertaining.
The very reasons people passed on it is why we wanted to do it.” And now look at the movie.
