On Thursday, May 11, 2023, the legendary actress Melanie Griffith was snapped leaving a skin care clinic. In the snaps that have emerged online, she has bruises on her face as well as her hand.
In one of the snaps, we can see that her left hand and knuckles are noticeably dark purple. Along with this, a small section near her ear also looked quite discolored. She didn’t try to conceal the blemishes during her latest outing. She pulled back her blonde locks in a messy bun.
For the outing, the Something Wild actress opted for a brown leather jacket, a tan sweater, and a pair of white slacks. She topped off her look with orange cat-eye sunglasses and Gucci sneakers.
As per a report by Page Six, Melanie was seen exiting a skin care clinic that goes by the name of Melanie Grant skin care clinic which specializes in facials and clinical treatments, such as laser facials and depigmentation.
Melanie Griffith has openly talked about her battle with skin cancer
Over the years, the 65-year-old actress has been open about her battle with skin cancer. She first revealed that she was battling skin cancer in the year 2009. Back in the day, she decided to get dermabrasion. As per Mayo Clinic, “it’s a skin-resurfacing procedure that uses a rapidly rotating device to sand the outer layers of skin.”
Last year, Griffith was photographed with a big scar on the exact same area of her face. If you will take a closer look at her snaps, you will be able to see a small part of the laceration, which seemed to be sewn with stitches, remained open and healing.
Then, the exact reason for the star’s scar was not known. In the past, she has even spilled the beans on how her cancer diagnosis impacted her acting career.
During a 2018 interview with InStyle, Griffith said, “[It’s} a scary thing when you’re an actress and you depend on your face for work. But I realize I have to put a Band-Aid on it, and it’s fine. I just look like a dork.”
After a couple of weeks, she shared a picture of herself with a bandaged nose and then she requested people to get their sun spots checked. At that time, she wrote, “Bandaged again after having dermabrasion, the final step to fix the now removed basil cell skin cancer. If any of you have it, get it fixed. If you lay in the sun, are exposed to lots of sun, be CAREFUL.”
Melanie went on to say, “Use sun screen. Get checked out by your Dermatolgist. If you don’t have one, get one, or go to your nearest clinic and ask to be tested for it. More info to come!
