Connor stated he was forced to come out as bisexual. It seems like he felt pressured because of the accusations that he was queerbaiting. The controversy started when photos of Kit holding hands with Maia Reficco, his co-star in A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow went viral on social media.
Kit Connor shot to fame with ‘Heartstopper’
Kit made his acting debut at the young age of 8. Back in the day, he made a few appearances in Chickens on Sky One, the television film An Adventure in Space and Time, and the soap opera Casualty. He rose to prominence with Netflix’s show Heartstopper.
For those of you who are unaware, let us tell you, the hit show Heartstopper, narrates the tale of a boy whose name is Charlie Spring (essayed by Joe Locke). He is a shy, openly gay teen dealing with bullying from his classmates and he has a secret relationship with a fellow student named Nick (played by Kit Connor) who is yet to come in terms with his sexuality.
Over time, Nick and Charlie form a close bond and the two of them end up falling in love. The Netflix series is based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman.
Along with Kit and Joe, the show also stars William Gao as Tao Xu, Yasmin Finney as Elle Argent, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olsson, Olivia Colman as Sarah Nelson, and Corinna Brown as Tara Jones.
After the success of the series, it was renewed for two more seasons earlier this year, in May. The show Heartstopper has received good feedback from the side of viewers as well the critics.
