The Golden Globe Awards nominations have been announced in the 80th anniversary year of the annual event.
This year, the best movies and TV shows from the previous year will be honored in a US ceremony in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, on January 10, 2019, to celebrate their achievements.
The Nomination List For The Golden Globes 2023 Has Been Released
From the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, where the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards were held, the nominees for this year’s awards have been announced.
According to Helen Hoehne, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the nominations were unveiled by Mayan Lopez and Selenis Leyva, stars of the new NBC comedy Lopez vs. Lopez, as well as Helen Lopez of the Lopez vs. Lopez series on Fox. The host presented the 27 categories of awards, and each class was given five nominees.
For the first time, 103 international voters were included in the voting process for the nominations. This is a record number of votes. In addition, international film festivals, well-known industry organizations, and journalists from around the world were contacted to recruit new voters.
A diverse voting group representing 62 countries worldwide makes up this voting group. It is estimated that the total voting body for the Golden Globe Awards will have 52% female members and 51.8% racial and ethnically diverse, including 19.6% Latinx, 12.1% Asian, 10.1% Black, and 10.1% Middle Eastern members.
An 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony will occur on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time/5 p.m. Pacific Time, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. It will be broadcast on NBC as well as Peacock.
Blockbuster Hits And Prestige Films Were Both Nominated This Year
The nominations for this year’s Academy Awards include many films and performances, such as blockbuster hits and prestige films that have never been seen before.
There were many mainstay awards movies this year, including Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans, Michelle Yeoh’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, and the Colin Farrell-starring Banshees of Inisherin, that made a significant impact on the awards season, but the Globe nominations provided a much-needed boost to Angela Bassett’s performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dolly de Leon’s performance in Triangle of Sadness, Eddie Redmayne’s performance in The Good Nurse, Ana de Armas (Blonde)).
Quinta Brunson continues to enjoy continued success as she and her ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary are the Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy winners at the Emmy Awards in September. In addition, the HFPA also awarded a set of nods for outstanding actresses Jennifer Coolidge and Aubrey Plaza on behalf of Mike White’s celebrated drama, The White Lotus, in its second season.
