The film will be the fifth installment of Legendary’s MonsterVerse, following 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters and last year’s Godzilla vs. Kong. The first two MonsterVerse films, 2014’s Godzilla and 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, were also filmed in Queensland.
The Untitled Godzilla Vs Kong Sequel: What Can We Expect?
No plot details for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel has not been revealed yet but it’s likely to feature a rematch between the massive monsters. Perhaps this time, they won’t end up teaming up against an even more dangerous foe, like they did in the first movie.
The ending of Godzilla vs. Kong did tease a future conflict though, so it’s possible we could see that happen too.
There is also a possibility that Godzilla vs King will take place in another dimension where the two titans are fighting each other as part of an ancient war between their species.
Aside from being able to expand on the mythology of Titans, this also opens up opportunities for other monsters from different dimensions to join in on the fun as well.
It isn’t a secret that Legendary Pictures intends to make the MonsterVerse a long-running franchise. However, this big news has baffled the fans to get excited for the coming year.
While there is little information on the sequel at this point, it feels that the film will be directed by Adam Wingard.
