The winners of the Global Awards 2022 were revealed today (April 14, 2022). The awards have flown in their fifth year now. Global Today announced the winners on-air, online, and on Global Player to fans.
The Global Awards bring together Global radio stations like Capital, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, Radio X, Capital XTRA, Capital Dance, and Gold, as well as Global Player, to honor the greatest stars from the field of music, entertainment, and podcasting.
Who was the big winner at the Global Awards 2022?
The Joker And The Queen singer Ed Sheeran was the big winner at the Global Awards. He bagged a total of 3 trophies including Best Male, Best British Act, and Most Played Song of 2021.
In his video acceptance speech, the 31-year-old said, “Thank you so much for my Best Male Award, this is really cool, thank you Global for all the support, thank you Ashley it’s been a long journey and thank you from day one for being so supportive.”
Ed further added, “Lots of new and up and coming acts that are very exciting as well. And Most Played for ‘Bad Habits’, thanks to my radio team, and Global for smashing it and to the listeners at home who haven’t complained about it yet!”
Sir Elton John was honored with the Mass Appeal Award. On the other hand, Anne Marie won Best Female, Justin Bieber was crowned Best Pop Act, Sam Fender secured Best Indie Act and Coldplay was named Best Group.
