The first round of the 34th GLAAD Media Awards was announced in Los Angeles on March 30 to honor the ‘films, television shows, video games, musicians and works of journalism that fairly, accurately and inclusively represent the LGBT community and issues relevant to the community.’
The event was hosted by Emmy-nominated comedian and actress Margaret Cho and announced the winners for 15 of the 33 total categories. The second leg of the awards will be held in New York on May 13. Continue reading to know the full list of winners announced so far.
GLAAD Media Awards 2023 Winners Announced
Some shows that won big in the ceremony included Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, HBO’s The White Lotus, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, Prime Video’s A League of Their Own, and HBO’s Los Espookys.
Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera won the Advocate for Change Award, and Bad Bunny was honored with the Vanguard Award. Winners for six categories were honored onstage, while the rest of the awards were announced on GLAAD’s social media accounts. The full list of winners is as below:

The 34th GLAAD Media Awards will be streamed on Hulu from April 12. The nominations were announced on January 18 this year by Sasha Colby and Salina EsTittes, known for their appearances on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The Ceremony was a Star-Studded Event
The awards ceremony saw surprise appearances and appearances by a number of stars. The night began with The White Lotus actor Jennifer Coolidge appearing on stage, who was surprised by Jane Lynch. The latter presented her Best in Show costar with a Special Recognition Award.
There was also a special tribute performance dedicated to the late Leslie Jordan by Orville Peck, presented by his costar and friend Cheyenne Jackson. This year, the event has introduced two new awards: Outstanding Podcast and Outstanding Live TV Journalism – Segment or Special, both of which will be announced in the New York round.
