Supermodel Gigi Hadid has deactivated her Twitter after actively using the platform for a decade. The Victoria’s Secret model believes that the famous social media platform has become a “cesspool of hate and bigotry” under the billionaire’s leadership. Gigi shared her last tweet, providing reasons why it’s no more a place for her.
Gigi Hadid Condemns Elon Musk
Gigi Hadid, 27 is not someone who’d like to be a part of any controversy. But lately, the supermodel has been actively sharing strong thoughts about some celebrities. After slamming Kanye West for bullying Vogue’s Gabriella Johnson, Gigi has now fired shots at Elon Musk.
Gigi Hadid has deactivated her Twitter after Elon Musk’s $44 billion takeover of the social media platform. On Saturday (Nov. 5), Hadid shared the last tweet, calling Twitter a cesspool of hate and bigotry following Elon’s new leadership. She wrote underneath a screenshot:
“I deactivated my Twitter account today. For a long time, but especially with its new leadership, it’s becoming more and more of a cesspool of hate & bigotry, and it’s not a place I want to be a part of.” Alongside her statement, Gigi posted Human Rights Counsel Shannon Raj Singh’s tweet about being laid off from the tech giant.
Well, Gigi isn’t the only celebrity who has left the platform after Musk took over the reins of Twitter. Stars like singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, R&B artist Toni Braxton and Shonda Rhimes also deactivated their Twitter days after Musk’s deal. For instance, Shonda tweeted, “Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye.”
Twitter Under Elon’s Leadership…
Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force, unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day.
Everyone exited was offered 3 months of severance, which is 50% more than legally required.

As he took over Twitter, Elon fired hundreds of employees, citing a vague reason: “Twitter was losing more than USD 4 million per day.” Not only this, but on Saturday, Twitter began rolling out a paid subscription system where users would be required to pay $8 for the blue tick.
As for many celebrities, Twitter isn’t a safe place anymore under the leadership of a self-proclaimed “free-speech absolutist”. Well, his recent tweets are a hint of what Twitter would look like under his leadership.
it has been interesting, over the years, to watch you blossom from the electric car guy into a fully-formed piece of shit @elonmusk https://t.co/ECkgEiQ29k

Recently, the billionaire shared an article promoting an unsupported conspiracy theory regarding the recent attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi. It all started with former first lady, Hillary Clinton’s tweet wherein she shared an LATimes article, that narrated the violent attack on Paul Pelosi.
After this, Elon shared a bizarre theory that depicted this attacker as a Castron Nudist (a group of radical gay male prostitutes). He referred to Paul Pelosi as a closeted gay man who once hired DePape as an escort. The theory also defends David by stating that it was Paul Pelosi who had the hammer and was struggling with David, who was in his underwear.
On this, Jimmy Kimmel gave a befitting reply to Elon, writing in his since-deleted tweet, “It has been interesting over the years to watch you blossom from the electric car guy into a fully-formed piece of s**t. Elon replied to Jimmy with a crying emoji. Well, it’s not surprising to see Elon’s far-right sympathies.
Another reason, why Elon is not the right person for Twitter, is related to his views about free speech and social media, which are ill-conceived, but that’s another debatable discussion. For now, think twice before your tweet. Do you think Elon was right in firing so many employees?
