Sad news for the cast and fans of “Floribama Shore”! The series has been cancelled after airing four Seasons on MTV. It has come out that the future of the series is being evaluated, and well, it has been shelved indefinitely by the network. Read on to learn more about it.
Floribama Shore Shelved Indefinitely…
The American reality television series, Floribama Shore, which premiered on MTV in 2017 as a successor to Jersey Shore, aired for good four Seasons. However, it has come out that the network has cancelled the series for Season 5, and to be precise, has indefinitely shelved the series. The network revealed that the future of this series is being evaluated.
Per several outlets, the cast and crew were told the news yesterday (Aug 26). However, the reason for its cancellation is still unknown. Many of the cast members were left confused as cameras were present during Nilsa Prowant and Gus Gazda’s wedding, which was set to appear in Season 5. Amidst the news, Prowant also posted photos from her big day on Instagram, showing a camera crew standing behind the couple as they said “I do.”
While there were high hopes for the series to return with a Season 5, fans have been left disappointed after the said revelation. Floribama Shore’s main cast included Jeremiah Buoni, Codi Butts, Kortni Gilson (seasons 1–3), Aimee Hall, Kirk Medas, Nilsa Prowant, Candace Rice and Gus Smyrnios.
More About The Floribama Shore…
If you’re a Floribama Shore fan, you’d feel the heartbreak. The American reality television series was set in the Florida Panhandle along the beach that stretches all the way to Alabama.
The series documented the life of eight young adults who lived together during the summer on the Gulf Coast in Panama City Beach, Florida. If you don’t know this, in November 2020, production for Season 4 also went for a toss for good two weeks due to several production team members testing positive for Covid-19. The housemates were sent home early and these events were displayed in the episode, “Expose”.
Fans surely had high hopes for Season 5 but the news has come as a shock for both, fans and the cast. Apart from this, MTV has come up with a new series in the Shore franchise, called “Buckhead Shore” in June, wherein the cast can be seen partying in a lake house in coastal Georgia.
As for the reason, there are speculations that there had been a disturbance between the cast and the network. Some of the cast members hinted there was unrest earlier this month when they shared Tweets that seemingly alleged that their pay was put on a hold by either the network or production company. It can be assumed that the pay was for the filming of Nilsa’s wedding.
If I have to be honest, the reaction to the later seasons of “Floribama Shore” wasn’t as positive as it was for the first two seasons. This can also be reflected in the fact that none of the cast members participated in an All-Star Shore, and the series too did not refer to it. Therefore, things had already gone south for this show. Well, there’s much to expect from “Buckhead Shore”, what do you think?
