Dopesick on Hulu is a Must Watch

Dopesick is an American drama miniseries created by Danny Strong based on the non-fiction book Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors and the Drug Company that Addicted America by Beth Macy. On October 13, 2021, Hulu released the first three episodes of the eight-episode series. Dopesick is a miniseries that focuses on “the epicenter of America’s fight with Opioid addiction” in the United States.

On November 12, 2021, the series will premiere internationally on Disney+’s Star entertainment platform, Disney+ Hotstar, and Star+. Based on 34 critic reviews, the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes scored a 79 percent approval rating with an average rating of 7.3/10.

The series received excellent ratings and there are multiple reasons to watch it. Dopesick’s broad range resembles some of Ryan Murphy’s more ambitious shows, such as all three seasons of American Crime Story. Danny Strong’s compelling eight-episode Hulu beginnings the event in Hollywood terms, sometimes making it as consumable and shiny as possible while always focusing on an emotional truth.

Dopesick Storyline

Based on Beth Macy’s book, “Dopesick” gives a clear picture of the various characters in this Bosch painting of a drug issue. As everyone has a part to perform in either allowing the pills take over America one user at a time.

Or in attempting to attain some accountability. These separate arcs take place in the late 1990s. As Oxy is beginning to take hold and become accepted as a safe opiate with only a 1% addiction rate.

Every time Purdue wants to earn more money, it makes a claim like this: “Doctors should now start patients on higher doses,” or the pamphlet-ready ideas of “breakthrough pain” and “pseudo-addiction.”

In certain cases, it helps to highlight the writers’ concerns about the destruction caused by OxyContin and opioids in particular. In other cases, though, it complicates the story and makes it more puzzling than emphatic.

You will see a number of difficulties here. Not because this series is mutated monsters or fictional stories. But because it concentrates on real-life events. The narrative is true, and it is encouraging us to pay attention to the problems.

We’ve all heard about the opioid epidemic. Or perhaps we just believe we do. This series will help us see things more clearly. As a result, it’s definitely worth watching. Do let us know what you think about this series if you’ve seen it. The series is based on true events, as mentioned above! You can watch it once it’s internationally released.
