Beyond his reputation as one of the greatest soccer players in the world, David Beckham is also known for his impeccable fashion sense, frequent sponsorship deals and charming personality. Connoisseurs of both high-end couture and football alike consider him a style icon worthy of admiration.
The former England captain, who grew up in an East London working-class neighbourhood and honed his football skills there before becoming a star, is now giving back to the sport that helped make him what he is today.
In a new documentary series, Beckham returns to the east London neighbourhood where he grew up to coach an underprivileged local team called Westward Boys. The series will follow young players as they train under Beckham’s supervision at the club’s facilities in Failsworth.
Speaking about the big announcement, David Beckham shared with his fans the overwhelming experience of working on the Save our Squad and shed light on the grassroots that helped him grow up and have a start in the field of the game.
He also mentioned that he was grateful to be able to give back to his roots which gave him such a promising long career.
When Is The Documentary Releasing?
The 15 seconds trailer that is going to baffle all the fans around the globe also came with a big premiere date. The documentary is set to launch on the platform on 9th November.
The series is produced by Twenty Twenty and Beckham’s own production company Studio 99.
In its continued effort to expand internationally, Disney+ announced 60 new international originals over the next two years at Edinburgh TV Festival.
The slate of series includes one about the murder mystery surrounding author Agatha Christie and another hosted by actor Keanu Reeves that explores Lewis Hamilton’s Brawn GP F1 team in 2009.
