Derek Jeter and Hannah Jeter are now a family of six! The former professional baseball shortstop and the model have welcomed their fourth child together. The couple became parents to a son on May 5th.
Derek and Hannah announced the happy news on social media on May 8th. The couple is already parents to three daughters: Bella Raine, 5, Story Grey, 4, and River Rose, 1. Read on to know more about the new arrival in their family.
Derek and Hannah Jeter Welcome Fourth Child Together
Derek took to Instagram on Monday to announce the birth of his fourth baby. He posted a picture revealing the name of his son as Kaius Green Jeter. ‘5-5-23’ read the date on the image. The 48-year-old captioned the post, “Welcome to the world lil man!!!” He also updated his Instagram bio as ‘Sleep-deprived father of four.’
Hannah, who kept her pregnancy a secret, shared Derek’s post on her story. The couple received congratulatory messages from their friends and colleagues, including Derek’s MLB team, New York Yankees.
The Couple Already Shares Three Daughters Together
Derek is often seen posting fun moments with his children on social media. Talking about his experience of fatherhood, the MLB analyst said, “The mornings are early…getting them up, they’re not in school right now, but dropping them off at school, picking them up. Tennis lessons, ballet lessons, you know.”
“It’s controlled chaos. It’s school pick-ups, drop-offs, they do my nails, my toenails, makeup, lipstick. It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced though, my girls, they are the absolute best.”
“I’m getting my nails painted and makeup on my face, dresses. So there’s a whole other side to me. They know that I played for the Yankees. They see me on TV. They recognize me, especially during this documentary. But other than that, they have no idea and I like it that way,” he added.
When asked if he would like to see his children pursue sports, Derek said, “It sounds like a cliché, but you can accomplish anything if you have the right people around you. I want my girls to find whatever that is that they’re passionate about, and I’ll be there to support them.”
Derek and Hannah Got Married in 2016
The couple began dating in 2012 and tied the knot four years later in 2016. In 2017, they welcomed their first daughter Bella Raine, followed by Story Grey in 2019. The duo secretly welcomed their third daughter River Rose in 2021 after Hannah kept her pregnancy hidden from the world.
“I know it’s necessary in my industry, and I absolutely have to when it’s part of a contract. But a lot of people post their children and husbands, and for me, that will never be the case,” the 33-year-old model revealed as the reason behind keeping her pregnancy a secret.
“Both my husband and I have been in a place in our careers where we have to share so much. And we can handle it. But when you love something so much, you want to protect it more than anything in the world. And for me, that’s my relationship, that’s my kids.”
