Camila Banus is bidding goodbye to the soap opera Days of Our Lives after 13 years! The Hollywood actress announced her departure from the show while having a chat with TheWrap.

During her latest interview with TheWrap, Camila revealed that she has moved on from the soap opera Days of Our Lives after 13 years. She told the media outlet that she felt the show’s “changes” were a sign for her to move on.
In the interview published on Monday, the 32-year-old actress said, “Although it’s been wonderful and we’ve had a super great reception, for me, I felt like that was kind of like the initial start for changes happening in general. And I kind of just saw that as a sign for me to start the next chapter in my life.”
Friday was Camila’s last day on the set of the show. However, she shared that her character Gabi Hernandez’s actual last airdate will be months ahead.
Banus went on to say, “I was, honestly, open to renegotiating a certain type of shooting schedule where I would have a little bit more time off. But they didn’t go for it. And certain other factors that were involved that they didn’t go for. At first, it was just easy to say, ‘Well, if you can’t meet these demands, then I can’t,’ and move on with a new contract.”
The Star actress continued, “But then, you know, I talked to producers and they had a call with me and they were like, ‘Well, what can we do?’ And I honestly, ‘I need to slow down. And part of that is, you know, you guys accepting this shooting schedule for me, and you won’t. So, you know, I have to respectfully bow out and say thank you, and that’s all I can do.'”

Camila’s latest decision will also affect her personal life. Now, the Miami Beach-born TV star is paying her full attention to her family life. She wants to start a family with her husband of two years, Marlon Aquino in the near future.
She further added, “My husband and I are trying to start a family, hopefully. And that’s another big factor in possibly just slowing down for a little bit and seeing kind of where this time takes me. But I’m also open to other opportunities and ready for big things. I’m just ready for something different.”

When we shed some light on the personal life of Camila, she and her husband Marlon Aquino walked down the aisle in the year 2021. The longtime partners exchanged their vows at The Castle House Estate in Joshua Tree, California.
In an interview with People magazine at that time, Banus said, “We picked this venue because it was so different and unique. It felt like an oasis in the middle of the desert. The minute we saw it, we knew it was for us.”
Then, the Cuban-and-Spanish-American actress also mentioned that she and Marlon couldn’t wait “to commemorate a decade of being together with a romantic and unforgettable evening in Joshua Tree.”
The pair tied the knot in front of their 90 loved ones in 2021. During the reception, the guests were served Caribbean and Cuban-inspired food, which Banus said was a nod “to our cultures.”
For the big day, Camila opted for 2 dresses: one from the White Collection by Vera Wang and from Willowby by Watters. At that time, she spoke about her outfits and said, “Both are very bohemian and are a perfect fit for me and the venue.” On the other hand, when we talk about Marlon, he opted for a beige-colored pantsuit. He topped off his look with a pair of spectacles.
Camila announced the news of her engagement to the actor and businessman in December 2020 during an Instagram live session. Banus and Marlon started dating in the year 2012. At the moment, the couple resides in Los Angeles, and now Camila is hoping to get some good film roles in her kitty.

Camila recently told the publication “My biggest desire is to work on films. I’m a huge film buff, and I would love to work on big budget films wherever, whenever that is. I don’t know, but I’m just excited for cultivating new characters and possibly working on something comedic. I do think that I need to stretch that out because I think there’s a lot of potential there for me.”
In the same interview, the One Life to Live actress also stated that she isn’t forgetting her loyal soap fans that followed her on-screen journey in Salem for over a decade. She said she’s been very “blessed” and “lucky” to represent Latinas and Latinos on DOOL.
Banus also spoke about her emotional last day of work. She recalled the moment and revealed that she drove home crying her “eyes out.” She added, “It’s just a really renewing and refreshing time for me. And, I think a lot of great things are to come.”
