Dave, the FXX show based on a ‘suburban neurotic’ rapper, has achieved cult status since its premiere in 2020. The show follows a fictionalized version of rapper Lil Dicky as he tries to prove his talent to the people around him.

Dave Season 3 Release Date and Time
Dave season 3 is all set to premiere on FXX on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 10 pm ET. The first two episodes of the season will be aired together on the day, titled Texas and Harrison Ave. Both episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the next day, April 6. The third season is reported to have 10 episodes in total, just like the previous installments.
FXX released a trailer for the upcoming season in March, which shows some hilarious moments and also teases how the storyline will move forward. You can watch the trailer below. The description for Dave season 3 reads: “Dave is headlining his first-ever tour and looking for love along the way.”
“But as he and the gang crisscross America, they discover firsthand how diverse the cultural landscape of the United States really is – and how often fame puts pressure on love and friendship. The half-hour comedy is based on the life of rapper and comedian Dave Burd,” it reads further.
What is Dave About?
The show revolves around a rapper who believes that ‘he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time.’ He then has to convince everyone around him about his talent, meanwhile trying to make a career in the highly challenging music world.
“’Dave’ centers on a neurotic man in his late 20s who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time. Now he must convince his closest friends because with their help, he actually might convince the world.,” reads the synopsis for the show.
“Simultaneously exasperating and inspiring to his friends, he vows to leave no stone unturned on his quest to become the next superstar. The half-hour comedy is based on the life of rapper and comedian Dave Burd, better known by his stage name Lil Dicky.”
The New Season will Feature Some Big Names as Guest Stars
Apart from its comic moments, Dave is also known for celebrity cameos and guest appearances. The new season is confirmed to feature Usher, Rick Ross, Demi Lovato, Don Cheadle, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Killer Mike, and Travis Barker.
The previous seasons saw appearances by the likes of Justin Bieber, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, J Balvin, Lil Nas X, Kevin Hart, and Doja Cat. Apart from Lil Dicky, the main cast includes Taylor Misiak as Ally Wernick, GaTa as himself, Andrew Santino as Mike, Travis “Taco” Bennett of Odd Future as Elliot “Elz” and Christine Ko as Emma.
