Christina Aguilera To Headline 2023 Pride Island
The LGBTQ+ community is thrilled after NYC Pride announced five-time Grammy-winning artist, Christina Aguilera as the official headliner for 2023 Pride Island (May 3). The beautiful Pride season festival will take place on Sunday, June 25, 2023, and includes a lineup of other talented artists.
Aguilera, who is a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, expressed her gratitude for becoming a huge part of this year’s event. The singer said, “I couldn’t be more excited to headline NYC Pride’s iconic Pride Island.”
She continued, “I’m always ready to celebrate the strength and resilience of all the individual members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies by dedicating this performance to our combined power when we act and work in solidarity.”
The “Ain’t No Other Man” artist was awarded for her contribution to this community. Earlier this year, GLAAD recognized Xtina as its 2023 advocate for change, honoring the artist as someone who “through [her] work, has changed the game for LGBTQ people around the world.”
As she receievd the award, Aguilera expressed that everyone should raise their voices if they want to survive in a world that is “free of discrimination, hate, and violence.”Last year, Kim Petras headlined the event, which was set on Governer’s Island. The 2023 Pride Island festival will take place at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, which is a modern manufacturing campus, well known for hosting cultural events.
