Chloë Bailey Receives Backlash For Announcing New Single With ‘Disgusting’ Chris Brown

American songstress Chloë Bailey may be looking ravishing in a cover of her new song, “How Does it Feel,” but at the same time, she is facing massive backlash for her collaboration with Chris Brown, who has a history of violence with women. As she announced her next single, featuring Brown, fans immediately questioned her for collaborating with a “known abuser”.

Chloë’s New Single Cover Gets Slammed…

On Thursday (Feb. 16), Chloë Bailey announced her new single, “How Does it Feel”, featuring the controversial singer, Chris Brown. The “Have Mercy” artist shared an image of her, wherein she could be seen embracing the “disgusting” artist on the cover of her new song, which releases on streaming platforms next week.

“2ND PIECE. HOW DOES IT FEEL @chrisbrown. 2/24 🫀,” she captioned the image on Twitter. FYI, her new single, “How Does it Feels” belongs to her upcoming debut solo album, “In Pieces”, which is set to be released through Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records in March 2023. However, fans came forward and slammed the artist for collaborating with Chris Brown, considering his history of violence against women.

How Are Fans Reacting?

As soon as she released the cover of her upcoming single, fans immediately took to social media and slammed the 5-time Grammy Awards nominee for collaborating with the known abuser, Chris Brown. “We’re failing Black women in music if they feel like they have to collaborate with a known abuser in order to chart,” one critic tweeted.

One follower described Chris Brown as “disgusting.” “Was really looking forward to the album after pray it away but now Chloe you can honestly f–k right off. Beyonce really fumbled with this one,” another wrote.

Reminding people of Brown’s sins, one critic tweeted, ““watch people defend her collaborating w/ him while claiming that his history of violence against women was a one-time thing that he grew from even though his track record goes back from 2009 to 2022. in 2019 & 2022 he was accused of sexual assault by 2 different women.

Another person begged her to delete the image by tweeting: “chlöe there’s still time to delete this we will pretend like we didn’t see this there’s still time.” We all know Chris Brown’s history of abuse towards Rihanna. Since the controversial artist pleaded to one count of felony assault for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, he’s found himself entangled in several legal issues.

Those who came forward to defend Bailey for this collab (claiming that Brown’s history of violence was a one-time thing), must note Brown’s record of violence extends from 2009 to 2022. Well, Rihanna wasn’t the only victim. In 2017, his ex Karrueche Tran sought a five-year restraining order against him for becoming aggressive towards her after she didn’t return money and gift received during their relationship.

Apart from this, Brown faced legal consequences for alleged violent incidents, including a brawl in a New York nightclub with Drake in 2012, and an alleged altercation with Frank Ocean the following year. He has been arrested multiple times for allegedly threatening and beating several women.
