Chainsaw Man Season 1 Episode 9: Recap
The episode starts with Himeno’s death which left Aki traumatized. She begs Aki not to die so that when she dies, he can cry for her. On the other hand, Power runs away as she is unable to defeat the Katana man leaving a grieving Aki behind.
To honor Himeno’s wish, the Ghost devil helps Denji start his chainsaw before dying. After the chainsaw is activated Denji quickly rushes towards Katana man. They have an intense fight, where Denji is clearly overpowering the Katana man.
Katana man’s partner shoots Denji and slices him in half, killing him yet again. Hence, Denji after losing a lot of blood becomes unconscious. Meanwhile, Makima who is not really dead is seen reaching Kyoto where Kuruse and Tendo are waiting for her.
Makima walks out covered in blood and we can see inside the train where all the assailants lie dead with holes in their chests. She then tells Kuruse and Tendo to collect 30 convicts with life sentences or worse.
The convicts are then brought to the temple. Elsewhere, the kidnappers try to drag Denji’s body into the car. When suddenly one of them is crushed. Akane then calls up to check if Makima is dead but is informed that no had heard from the team that went to attack her.
At the temple, Makima blindfolds everybody and stands in front of convicts, and starts her secret Jutsu. Furthermore, asks the convicts to repeat names and as they repeat the name the assailants are crushed. One by One all the assailants are dead.
Akane knowing that such a power can only belong to Makima then tells the Katana man that they should leave. Just then Kobeni appears and attacks them preventing them from kidnapping Denji.
Knowing that the katana man is injured, Akane gets him into the car and drives away. Madoka informs everyone, that most of the humans in Divisions 1 through 4 are killed and whatever is left of divisions will be absorbed under Makima’s direct command.
What To Expect From Episode 10
The episode will likely show the training of the newly formed division. Nevertheless, all the involved parties will take a break trying to heal from their injuries. Aki is still in shock after Himeno’s death so we can see more about their story.
New members will make an appearance and their power can be shown. We will get to know about Makima’s power and her Devil. The episode might also show how Denji reacts to Himeno’s death as they were together the night before the attack.
