CBS has not renewed the show True Lies for a second season! The fans of the show will not get to see more of the television series based on the 1994 film of the same name by James Cameron.

‘True Lies’ gets canceled after one season
The popular network CBS has canceled the show True Lies after one season. Honestly, the decision of the show’s cancelation is not very surprising as the series has not been able to find its audience.
True Lies has very low ratings. The series is considered CBS’ one of the lowest-rated shows of the season. If the show had good ratings, there would have been a possibility for its renewal. However, the ratings of the show have remained low.
In the last couple of days, CBS has canceled and renewed a couple of shows. The cancelation of the hit crime drama show S.W.A.T. has been reversed. Now, the show will be returning for a seventh and final season which will consist of a total of 13 episodes.
On the other hand, the police drama series East New York has also been canceled by the network after just one season. William Finkelstein and Mike Flynn created the show.
What is the show ‘True Lies’ all about?
For those of you who are unversed, let us share with you, the show True Lies is a reboot of James Cameron’s 1994 action comedy movie of the same name which is based on the 1991 French film La Totale! by Claude Zidi, Simon Michaël, and Didier Kaminka.
The show narrates the tale of a skilled international spy Harry Tasker (played by Steve Howey), and his wife Helen (portrayed by Ginger Gonzaga), a language professor bored with her daily routine who makes the shocking discovery that her seemingly ordinary husband is leading an extraordinary double life.
Who stars in the show ‘True Lies’?
The series stars Steve Howey, Ginger Gonzaga, Erica Hernandez, Omar Miller, Lucas Jaye Mike O’Gorman, Annabella Didion, and Lucas Jaye in pivotal roles. Other members of the cast are as follows: Carlo Rota, Andy Martin, Liann Pattison, Andrea Laing, Deneen Tyler, Franco Castan, Ray Gaspard, Christian Juru, John Jabaley, Tom Arnold, and Jenny Mercein.
Matt Nix created the show. Not only this, he and Anthony Hemingway executive produced the series alongside James Cameron, Rae Sanchini, McG, Mary Viola, Corey Marsh, and Josh Levy. Sean Hoagland and Whitney Davis served as the executive producers.
The last and final episode of season 1 of the TV show True Lies will drop on May 17, 2023. The first season of the show premiered on March 1, 2023, on CBS.
