Tory Lanez is officially a married man in prison now! As per a report by Complex, the news of the Canadian rapper’s marriage to his fiancée, Raina Chassagne has been disclosed by the newly released court filings that revolved around the legal motion for the bail.
Recently, a reporter named Meghann Cuniff revealed that at the moment, Lanez whose birth name is Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson is pulling all his stops to seek a motion with the Supreme Court to see his release on bail.

Yeah, you read that right. According to the court filings for the rapper’s bail that were put out by legal journalist, Meghann Cuniff on September 1, 2023, Friday, on her Twitter account @meghanncuniff, Tony is married to his fiancée, Raina Chassagne.
Cuniff tweeted, “From his sentencing hearing engagement announcement to his bail motion wedding announcement, Tory Lanez’s relationship status has advanced rapidly in the last few weeks. His fiancée is now his wife, according to the motion.”
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, that Tory Lanez has been serving his 10-year sentence in jail since December 23, 2022, after he was found guilty of shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
The roadside shooting incident happened in the year 2020. At that point in time, Lanez shot the Savage hitmaker Meghan Thee Stallion in the feet after they left a party that took place at Kylie Jenner’s house.

At the moment, Tory is being held at the Men’s Central Jail that is located in Los Angeles and he is looking forward to getting transported to a state prison. Since the time he got arrested, he has been requesting a retrial which has been declined from the side of the court.
During the sentence hearing, Lanez stated that Megan is someone he still cares about and remarked that he regrets the things he said to her during their 2020 roadside quarrel. At the time of providing the sentence, the judge also took into consideration, the past clean record of the musician as well as his philanthropic efforts.
The argument which said, “Sometimes good people do bad things” was dismissed by the court. Then, the media outlet, Daily Mail reported that Raina was present in the court on the day of his hearing and she gave an “emotional plea” in support of her partner.
In her plea, Chassagne described her now-husband as an ambitious, trusting, and dedicated father. She asked the court to consider leniency to break the cycle of black fathers being in prison and separated from their kids.
As of this moment, it’s unknown how Tory and Raina met each other for the first time. After the final verdict was given by the court, Chassagne was seen crying outside the court meanwhile her friends consoled her.
