Bones and All Trailer: Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell are Cannibalistic Lovers in this Romantic Horror Film

Timothée Chalamet is playing a cannibal! The trailer of the upcoming film Bones and All has been released, and it looks every bit enthralling. The film features the story of two cannibalistic lovers as they embark on a road trip across America, searching for their identity and coming into their own.

Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell star as Lee and Maren Yearly, the cannibalistic lovers. The film is based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis. Continue reading to watch the trailer and learn more about the film.

Bones and All Trailer Features a Perfect Blend of Romance and Horror

The trailer features some glimpses of the lovers as they sunbathe and passionately kiss beside a river. The visual then turns gory with a bloodied Lee having scars on his chest. At one point, he knocks a person down with an iron rod, as  Leonard Cohen’s song You Want It Darker keeps playing in the background.

“You don’t think I’m a bad person?” asks Lee, to which Maren replies, “All I think is that I love you.” Meanwhile, the couple is seen moving what appears to be a dead body. “You look like the kind that’s convinced himself he’s got this under his thumb, but you pull on one little thread and…,” says a man to Lee as the shots are inter-cut with the cannibal killing two people.

Bones and All is releasing in select theatres on November 18, before having a nationwide release on November 23. Watch the chilling trailer below.

The Film Received Standing Ovation at the Venice Film Festival

Bones and All premiered at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this month and received an eight-and-a-half minute-long standing ovation. The official synopsis of the film reads, “Bones and All is a story of first love between Maren (Russell), a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee (Chalamet), an intense and disenfranchised drifter.”

“A liberating road odyssey of two young people coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world that cannot abide who they are,” the synopsis reads further.

Chalamet has Teamed Up with Director Luca Guadagnino for a Second Time

Bones and All is the second project together for Chalamet and director Luca Guadagnino, who previously worked on the much acclaimed 2017 hit Call Me By Your Name. Talking about the character, Chalamet said at the Venice Film festival, “It was a relief to play characters who are wrestling with an internal dilemma absent the ability to go on Reddit or Twitter or Instagram or TikTok and figure out where they fit in.”

“Without casting judgment on that, because if you can find your tribe there, then all the power. But I think it’s tough to be alive now,” he added. Apart from Timothée and Taylor Russell, the film will star Mark Rylance as Sully, Michael Stuhlbarg as Jake, André Holland as Frank Yearly, Maren’s father, Jessica Harper as Maren’s grandmother and Chloë Sevigny as Janelle Yearly, Maren’s mother.
