BLACKPINK Singer Lisa Landed A Trio Of Guinness World Records

In the last year, Lisa of BLACKPINK has set three new world records. These records were announced on Tuesday, January 24, by the Guinness Book of World Records, a worldwide record keeper.

According to the outlet, last year’s MTV Video Music Awards saw the “Lalisa” rapper become the first solo K-pop artist to receive the award.

To Lisa’s Record Collection, Three More Titles Have Been Added

Three Guinness World Records have been broken by BLACKPINK’s Lisa over the past few days. BLACKPINK’s Lisa has achieved three new world records as a solo artist as part of her Guinness World Records certificate, which Guinness World Records confirmed on January 24.

During the release of her debut solo album “LALISA” in September 2021, Lisa broke a world record for most YouTube music video views by a solo artist when she achieved an impressive 73.6 million views in 24 hours.

She has earned new titles, including being the first solo K-pop artist to win the Best K-pop Video at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and the first solo K-pop artist to win the Best K-Pop Award at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).

In addition, BLACKPINK was awarded Best Metaverse Performance at the 2022 MTV EMAs for their performance of “Ready for Love.” As the first group to win this award, BLACKPINK earned a Guinness World Records title for its achievement.

There is a third new title Lisa will take home as she is the most popular K-pop artist on Instagram. It was estimated that Lisa has 86.3 million followers as of January 19, 2023, and that number was up to 87 million as of January 26, KST, meaning that her Instagram account is currently ranked 38th out of all the most popular accounts on the platform.

She Received A Solo Nomination For The Premio Lo Nuestro For “S.G.”

Earlier this week, Lisa received a solo nomination for the Premio Lo Nuestro award for “S.G.,” her collaboration with D.J. Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, and Ozuna.

It was early January when BLACKPINK became the first female K-pop act to be nominated for the Best International Group category at the British Academy Music Awards for the first time in its history. In addition, BLACKPINK is set to headline Coachella this summer, making her the first K-pop artist ever to headline the renowned U.S. music festival in its history.

BLACKPINK currently holds three Guinness World Records titles as a group as of January 2023, including the most subscribers ever for a band on YouTube, the first K-pop group to achieve number one on the U.K. Albums Chart (Female), and the first K-pop group to reach number one on the United States Albums Chart (Female).

On Their Ongoing Born Pink World Tour, The Group Is Currently In Asia

In addition to the previously mentioned performances in Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the quartet is presently on the Asia leg of the Born Pink World Tour. Most recently, they performed in Bangkok, for three nights in Hong Kong, and a concert in Riyadh.

The K-pop group is set to make even more history this spring, as they are set to become the first K-pop act to headline Coachella for the first time alongside Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean. Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, the group’s Netflix documentary that documents their first appearance at the Indio, Calif.-based festival in 2010, marks the fourth anniversary of the girls’ first performance.

A limited-edition vinyl version of Lisa’s new album, Born Pink, was released earlier this month by her bandmates, and Lisa is one of those bandmates. In addition to the baby pink pressing of the album, several other accessories were included, such as photo cards, a double-sided poster, etc.

The rest of 2023 will be an exciting time to see what records BLACKPINK and its members will break, and we look forward to seeing them do so. Could you share your thoughts on Lisa’s breaking of the records? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
