Bishop Briggs is expecting her first baby! The singer-songwriter dropped the amazing news on Instagram. She did a pregnancy photoshoot with the Paper magazine and the photos have turned out great.
What did Bishop have to say about her pregnancy?
Briggs took to her Instagram to share the happy news with the rest of the world. “SURPRISE 🍼 THANK YOU @papermagazine FOR MAKING MY MATERNITY SHOOT DREAMS COME TRUE!”, she captioned the post.
In an interaction with Paper Magazine, the River singer said, “I feel like my sister blessed me with this little baby. It feels like a little present from her, so there’s that light and darkness.”
The 29-year-old further added, “I was looking at this person that I love so much and thinking that this is the only thing that matters in the world. Our connections with humans, our family and the deep friendships that we have, that’s the number one thing that matters.”
Briggs continued, “I almost wanted to speed up life and get pregnant and hang out with my sister. But it’s ironic that’s when the first seed was planted, because I was in the saddest part of my life, but it became the thing I clung to.”
What happened to Bishop’s sister Kate?
In the past, the sister of the rock star, Kate battled ovarian cancer. She lost her sister to the disease. She took to Instagram to share her sister’s story with everyone.
Briggs wrote, “Hey everyone, I was originally keeping this private out of respect for Kate but she has given me consent to speak out about this as we are in dire need of some help. About 6 months ago my sweet sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer that has now spread to her stomach.”
Bishop further added, “She has tried numerous types of chemo but after a CT scan last week we learned it was worsening and therefore this round of chemo (we were hoping would work) isn’t. The hospital said they could do nothing more for her. Kate is 30 years old and I am reaching out to see if any of you have names, alternative medicines, contacts, clinical trials, etc that can help us.”
When did Bishop step into the world of music?
Sarah Grace McLaughlin, popularly known as Bishop Briggs was born in London on 18 July 1992. Her Scottish parents were from the town Bishopbriggs and later she decided to make it her stage name.
Bishop traveled to Tokyo with her family at the young age of 4. She sang for the first time at a Karaoke bar in Tokyo and she made up her mind that she wanted to be a performer. She grew up listening to the songs of The Beatles.
Briggs started writing her own songs at the age of 7. That’s quite insane, isn’t it? She pursued music throughout her teen years. She took part in several talent shows at her school. She graduated from Hong Kong International School and then later on she moved to Los Angeles to attend college at Musicians Institute.
