Big Shot Season 2 Release Date, Trailer and Cast

The basketball coach is a pretty common trope in movies and books, but how many of us have thought about it being used as a device for redemption? It’s something that I haven’t really seen before, but it’s an interesting idea.

In this case, we’re talking about a high school girls’ basketball coach trying to get his team back on track.

He has been suspended from coaching after getting into an altercation with one of his players. Now he’s trying to prove himself worthy with the help of his assistant coaches and some new recruits from out-of-state.

Yes, this is about Big Shot which premiered in April 2021. The show was a fresh take on the sports genre with a strong performance by legend John Stamos.

The series has made a quiet fanbase for itself. The series is finally coming for a banging season 2 and here is everything you need to know.

When Is Big Shot Season 2?

In September 2021 following the major success of Big Shot, Disney+ renewed “Big Shot” for a second season.

The show stars John Stamos and follows a former NCAA basketball coach tutoring high-school girls. Now he knows that being tough with them is not the answer.

Produced by ABC Signature, season 2 of Big Shot is all ready to drop on Disney+ on October 12th. Big Shot is created by David E. Kelley, Dean Lorey, and Brad Garrett. Dean Lorey serves as showrunner on the series.

Is there any trailer?

Yes, on September 11th, Disney+ released the trailer for Big Shot season 2. The highly anticipated basketball drama is set to launch on the platform soon.

The new trailer for the series was first shown at the D23 expo the previous month, presented by both Disney Branded Entertainment president Ayo Davis and series star John Stamos.

The new “Marv” trailer gives us the first look at this continued work done by Marvyn Korn (Stamos) who, after being fired from his high-stakes job, finds a chance at redemption coaching high school basketball.

The first season of Korn focused on his relationship with his daughter who also happens to be one of his new pupils. It also examined how he wanted to better himself and show the students at his new school that he was worthy of being their coach.

With the girls of Westbrook catching some rest and relaxation during their short summer break, the trailer soon goes into Coach Korn’s training for the team to reach their full potential under a new basketball division.

Such change brings with it new problems for the team. As Westbrook becomes coed, Korn fears that the girls’ team will become marginalized.

He’ll need to balance his coaching duties and find a way to work together with the new boys’ basketball coach and help oversee a good season performance.

Cast

The show is bringing back the superstar John Stamos in the series Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Tiana Lee, Tisha Custodio, Cricket Wampler, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
